Bath time in the hood - straight from the can and to the dome.

Dimed on my speakers right now and my neighbors probably think I'm crazy. That's OK ...

Hi there good Advocates! Thanks again @AzfromOz for todays thread. I've time for a scoop before cruisin' over to N. ST. Paul to help a buddy fix his electric guitar. My last can of South Shore Island Hopper IPA. Just a gorgeous blonde ale. A nice slow pour to nab the sedi for a wave. Bitter, grapefruit, light yeast...mmmm. Cheers!

Love this little lager. Fun while listening to Rainbow Kitten Surprise. Admittedly a weird Indy jam band, but freaking catchy as hell.

[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) Fair State Pilsner (5.1%): A German-style pilsner from Minnesota with flavors of lemon citrus, lemonflower, grass, yeast, and dry flower. A strong bitterness & top quality pilsner.
    versus
    2) Modist You Just Wait (5.2%): A German-style pilsner from Minnesota hopped with Bravo and Galaxy and then aged in oak barrels for flavors of earthy bread and cereal malts. Some lemon and sourdough yeast flavors before a robust bitterness.

    3) Hop Butcher The Jewels (7.5% canned 6/7/22): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic and Vic Secret for flavors of milky pineapple, citrus flower, mint, and a honeydew melon sweetness. Dry and clean, yet flavorful and extremely drinkable for 7.5%.
    versus
    4) Half Acre Double Daisy Cutter (8.2% canned 3/17/22): A hazy double pale ale from Chicago with flavors of juicy orange, dank melon and berries, and black tea. Resinous and sweet with a mild bitterness. (Both pairs correctly matched blind)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    1) Fair State Pils:
My favorite American-made German pils. Modist had a unique and flavorful earthy note. Fair State was more traditional. Hard to call a winner as both of these are simply top notch pilsners.

    3) Hop Butcher The Jewels: Absolutely fantastic IPA. In the rotation from Hop Butcher for a reason. Silky pineapple, mint, citrus flower, and honeydew melon, all while drinking clean and relatively dry for the ABV. Top quality NEIPA.
The Double Daisy Cutter was good, but leaned too dank, resinous, and sweet for my liking.

Another one of my all time favorites, and more Dexter Gordon.

Saison Dupont. One Flight Up spinning. This is the Tone Poet reissue. These reissues are the first time in more than 30 years Blue Note was on the same level as their Japan counter parts. Back in the "old" days they were always pretty equal. Then there was a noticeable difference from the late 70's early 80's on. Anyway, another excellent album to go along with this great beer.

Unholy Devourment from Troon. I think I mentioned before that these guys are in my personal Tier 1, as it pertains to NEIPAs. They are the real deal and then some. I'm thankful. Peace...

It feels strange having my first beer on the 4th page! Starting today with a Pilsner from Trillium. Compliments of the great @WunderLlama from BIF 15. This is a really great pilsner. After drinking a bunch of great ones in Germany, this easily rivals those. Notes over in the NBW thread. Cheers!

[IMG] [IMG] A couple more for Sour Saturday. Kids are north with the in laws. That means plenty of beer and Buffalo chicken dip for me and the wife. This beer from 450 was made with those candy hearts that taste like chalk and it carried over to the beer which was terrible. I.E. chugged it. This Right Brain beer was made with whole cherry pies from Traverse City Bakery. Not bad, not great. Cheers boys.

Stopped at Tupps for a lobster roll since this is as close to Maine as I'm getting anytime soon.

The Salted Lime Mexican Lager is as advertised and really refreshing. Buying 6'er to take home.
