    Thank all the Gods, great and small, that it's Friday!

    There has been persistent rain across southern Australia for the last week and flood warnings are in effect everywhere. We're on a hill so it's nothing more than novelty to see our lawn floating but others in low-lying areas are in all sorts of trouble. The weekend promises a reduction in rainfall and hopefully relief from rising waters.

    The first pictures below are from a normally dry creekbed at the bottom of the hill we live on. The last photo is Southern Highlands Porter, a disappointing beer that was dominated by a sour mash taste. If I wanted that I'd grab a bourbon!

    That song was huge in Australia too back in 1983. Ten-year-old me would mutter along to the incomprehensible lyrics just like everyone else!

    Bottled 2/28/22. Poured at 60°. A friend from the pub is having a peanut boil for charity at the bar today… should be a mild day weather wise and fun. I plan on going this afternoon if the boss doesn’t find something else for me to do…Cheers and have a fantabulous Friday y’all!

    Catchy tune and in the MTV rotation when it came out…I liked it as did Mrs. Z #1, but it was too “pop” for our friends in college (and none of us appreciated the bigger meaning). Stay safe from the flooding, it is quite dangerous. Cheers!

    I had 55 hours in for the week when I left work last night. I'm on vacation next week, so I told them I wasn't coming in today. I have some vehicle prep to do today, but first a beer.

    Happy Friday BA's! Overtime done, new dryer delivered and installed and our contractor worked a bunch of items off the punch list. Enjoying a Sloop Juice Bomb with lunch prep. Looks like a couple burgers will be heading to the grill on a great 74 degree morning.

    Good evening folks! Long day here in Namibia. Tonight is my last night out in the desert. Back to the coast tomorrow for a few days. Ran into (OK, actually avoided) this horned adder today. Beautiful animal, with pretty perfect camouflage

    Yeah, no doubt! They make a crazy hissing sound when you get close, much like the rattle of a rattlesnake. They definitely let you know if you are getting close!
