    Põhjala - Forest Bänger

    Obviously I know Focal Banger very well, but I had never heard of Forest Bänger. Super intense smoky malts and juniper. Not for the faint of heart, no doubt about that.

    You know what, that is the second time I did that this week. I would like to blame it on auto fill because as soon as I type “brewed by”the rest fills. But we all know the truth—sometimes (most times) I do not have my shit together. The sad thing is that this was my first beer of the night! If it were my fifth or sixth drink then maybe I would have a valid excuse.

    All that said, my next beer will be a DIPA brewed by Triple Crossing. Unless of course I ended up typing Maine Beer Company.

    I did it again! It was brewed by Maine Beer Company. Not Triple Crossing. This is getting to be a sad thing.

    Dark amber body, crystal clear; outstanding, slow-rising and dense carbonation; big head, soft and creamy texture, sticky, long lasting. Warm, inviting cracker aroma combined with a modest caramel note; very subdued hop spiciness. Moderate toasted grain flavor with a touch of caramel sweetness; low-key hop bitterness. Medium body; warm; smooth.

    The looks are very impressive and the aroma rich and inviting. The taste hits the style profile for a Vienna lager. The mouthfeel sticks the palate with a warm, modestly sweet feel.

    Crystal clear amber body with a thick, lasting, white head. Faint cereal-like aroma; bread crusts. Lightly toasted grain flavor with a smoothly bitter finish and softly warm malt flavor aftertaste. Medium body; clean and crisp.

    A very drinkable, respectable amber lager. Perhaps it won't blow you away, but it certainly won't disappoint you either. Nice and refreshing.
