Happy hump day ba. Knocking back some Dunkel, dark lager, von trapp. Nice and smooth drinking with good robust flavors and a solid body,

It has been a few years since I visited (they live in Pennsylvania) but when I do we usually start with Buds at noon. About a case of Buds and eight hours later bourbon rears it’s ugly head.

Before I finished typing this said brother-in-law called. Discussed many things but mostly that he has to go back to work since retiring five years ago. Also reminded me how he drunk me under the table number times and had to help wife put me to bed. Good times.

...the older I get, the more I appreciate things that hark back to older times (he says as he posts on social media using digital technology)...yet, there is something nice about available light or light given off by (in this case) old kerosene lanterns...and the music isn't old time analog radio, but I'm not glued to my little screen (i.e., smart phone) or even my bigger screen (laptop in this case), and lord knows I get tired of big screen TV that generally offers nothing to stimulate my brain muscle...sure, BA is my social media of choice, but I still have one foot in a rather bygone era...

...I'm rambling, but I really enjoy not being glued to television for my entertainment...the virtual bar on BA is certainly 'modern' yet it also has a sense of being 'bellied up at the bar' in one sense...people being people, interacting with one another and not being spoon-fed their entertainment via some corporate entity...

...shit, I am a bit buzzed...

...anyway, glad you felt some sort of connection with things...

...myself - cash for three lines of numbers...hit the PowerBall on one line , so $4 return on a $9 investment... @vabeerguy can probably crunch the numbers to tell you I lost out on that one (like most of America)...but, yes, if I had just under $1BN in change, I'd seriously consider a big BA party...seems like that right thing to do...:sunglasses:

[IMG] Sipping this 12.5% NEQIPA at Vann’s house with a possibility of a Pliny and a shot of tequila makes the drive more tolerable. The @Ocalafox might need to get Timmy an Uber home.

I totally get it,other than BA I spent most of the day in the yard, garage, and in the kitchen cooking and baking.
I try to postpone putting on the TV for as long as possible. Hopefully some day we'll be in the same mellow space somewhere sharing a beer.
    Cheers

Gratitude again to @WunderLlama as I'm sipping on my first ever Treehouse brew (from an awesome Treehouse glass nonetheless!). Thanks, Maynard!!

1st of three samples from the Notch rep.

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22723/518132/

Canned on 08/31/22 in Burlington, VT.
(I heard this is brewed at Zero Gravity.)

Moderate pour yields nearly one inch pure white head over a very bright, light straw colored body with lacing.

Nose is a little toast, a little grass, a little cracker, and a little malt.

Taste follows nose closely with all the flavors coming together nicely.
Flavors of cereal grains, bread, and cracker with a bit of malt sweetness.
Finish has a hint of hop bitterness.

Nice medium to full mouthfeel with good carbonation.

Overall, a very well made offering from Notch Brewing that is highly sessionable, quite clean and delicious.
    Cheers!

    TV? What's that ? :wink::stuck_out_tongue:
~3 yrs ago, when I moved, I left the TV behind, as it was newly obsolete. Didn't bother getting a new one,as I only watched it once/mo, if that. Don't miss it.

3wk-old Sip ? Yes, please. :sunglasses:
