    I'm at a fantastic beer bar in Tokyo, Beer Club Popeye.

    Currently drinking WAZA imperial stout from Ryougoku Lab.

    Previously had Up Tight ordinary bitter from the same, and Fujizakura Kougen Rauch.

    Spent a couple hours chatting with an American expat retired history professor, but now I'm drinking Be Easy's EHERU WC IPA (partially based on my new buddy's recommendation).

    Good morning, BAs, and happy Veterans Day! Time to kick off the weekend.

    In addition to honoring our veterans, I think we should also be reminded that elsewhere - and until 1954 here in the US, as well - this day is known as Armistice Day, celebrating the end of the Great War's hostilities - to that point, the bloodiest, most widespread, and most fruitless war the world had ever seen.

    "On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month ..."

    Of course, the Treaty of Versailles would follow, formally ending the war, and we never, ever replicated the mistakes of that period. (We need an emoji for "sad sarcasm.")

    Cheers to all. Lift your glasses, and if you - like me - are enjoying the day off, perhaps spare a thought for why we have this holiday, and the more than 10 million lives that were lost during World War I.

    All quiet on the Western front so far in 2022.

    Western Europe that is.

    If our global leaders, Presidents or PMs loved misery, wars and bloodbath as much as the common people paying the price do. I’m convinced the world would be a safer place.

    Happy Veteran's Day......to my late father and elder brother - both USNavy vets, I tip my brew to you and all who served.....and often wonder how my life would have been different had I gone into the US Naval Academy as I was originally thinking as a kid of 16...??

    Oh man you were right. Got a few sips in and noticed that bitterness was really building and from then on i was on cloud 9. Great stuff, the best IPA iv had in a while especially in the WC style. Can see myself wanting more that's for sure.
