Settling in after making another batch (or starting it...) of Hazan's bolognese for tonight.
Now gonna sip on this fine, underrated beer from Telluride. Ski in Ski Stout.
Needed some afternoon roast.
New trail shoes arrived today, some inov-8 G300s on sale, but already got in a 10 mile trail run with some strides this a.m.
Rest day tomorrow, so I'll be fidgety on Tuesday.

Some beers at Great Heights Brewing

Lothar Pilsner, which is excellent.


And their English Dark Mild, which I can't remember the name of ha. Its way past time we just have regular names for beers anymore. Anyway, still a good Dark Mild.


Still working my way through this big novel, thats kind of like Steinbeck, but in Iceland ha. Its really good. Also watched my Fighting Illini play a good basketball game against Virginia, but came up a bit short. Oh well, we did beat UCLA just a few days ago. Time to find some food, Great Heights didn't have any food trucks, the one time I would have actually gotten from a truck and they don't have one ha.

Last call for me this busy weekend: the mighty War Elephant. I'm very fond of this DIPA. And I'm raising this glass to toast my friend and law partner Jay who lost his battle with cancer last night. A good and decent man who's finished his race. 68 years old. Was mayor of Morristown. Life is short. Make the most of it. Love your family, friends, and neighbors. Cheers, BAs.

Drinking Fiddlehead Second Fiddle

 

This was so good fresh. Maple ages out into generic sweetness for me, so having it a year after was a definite drop off. Still delicious though!
