    Good evening BA
I took yesterday off to give my liver a break. Unfortunately, that just makes me dream about combos like this.

Just finished dinner and now I'm having this excellent beer from Brick & Feather courtesy of @SABERG. I will probably spark up this bone shortly as well.

I'll join your porter escapade. Having a Mayflower Porter, straight from my basement. It's such a great beer. Salute!

Catching up on email while enjoying this beer from @Coronaeus. Very good Marzen.

Also exhausted from watching USMNT game. Great result, but man was that last 20 minute or so stressful.

Phantom Canyon Brewing Co. -- 2022 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Barleywine
Traditional English-style barleywine aged for 3 months in Elijah Craig '14 Year' barrels
ABV: 10.5%; ouring temperature: 41 °F; bottling info: 2022; Limited Bottle Release #49 of 172

Deep garnet hued body; dense carbonation; less than one-finger thick head yet dense, creamy, and light khaki colored; nice sheets of foam coat the interior glass. Mild toffee notes with white oak on the nose. Big malt flavor; caramel and light toffee; light brown sugar and vanilla; fairly bold bourbon element emerges halfway through the taste; earthy sweetness. Heavy body; smooth and velvety; fairly intense alcohol warmth percolates through the residual sugars.

This English-styled barleywine is a fine sipper. Just the base beer would have been nice. I would like to try this one with a year or so of aging to see if it would have tamed the barrel-aging a bit. It has some intensity now that being dialed back a bit would round out the character and overall enjoyment of the beer.

Old Combine 4 Grain Lager by Moonlight Brewing

Can received in a Lif associated in Bif16 from @Beersnake1

Brewers notes: Oats, rye, wheat and barley give this lager an unusually rich and intriguing mouthfeel. Just the perfect zing of hops brings these grains to vibrancy!

American lager has little in the way of hop and malt character. A straw to gold, very clean and crisp, highly carbonated lager. Hop aroma and flavor are low to medium-low, deriving from noble-type hops. Hop bitterness is medium. Toasted, biscuit-like, and/or bready malt flavors along with low levels of fermented-malt-derived sulfur compounds may be evident.

    Canned on 10.5, opened 11.29

Creamy , fluffy , long lasting off white frothy cap lazily lingers over a clear golden liquid with numerous carbonation streams . Very good retention , spotty lacings, settles to a thin layer

Aroma is spicy, malty , grains

Taste is malty, rye, spicy notes , the rye seems to dominate , biscuity

Sudsy mouthfeel , hop nibble on the finish

    Good beer

I don’t know where our athletic got the idea we’re a west coast school** with 9pm tipoffs, especially given our general hubris about the level of academics at the university:

We’ve weaseled into a #3 ranking and hope to take out the team of @jvgoor3786 tonight, likely after I’ve fallen asleep.

    G'evening BA's.

November 29th is a tough day for me...Mom passed away 7 years ago today after a month long battle with numerous health issues.

Going to have a couple beers tonight, starting with this one
    [IMG]
Couldn't find Colt 45, which was always a joke she hated; we would say it was her drink. A faux pas we never let her forget.

This one always hits so close to home, almost like they wrote it for her.

    Cheers!
