I have that one too. Hopefully I enjoy it more than the cognac coffee porter.

Keeping it relatively light this afternoon. Going to see Sebastian Maniscalco tonight with my daughter, actually her birthday present to me. We have great seats so really looking forward to it.

I definitely like those, and I'm a big Saint Arnold fan, I guess not everybody is, but the cognac coffee porter is for sure a big beer that you can only have so much of. I have the regular coffee porter in the fridge now as well. Will probably have one of those today, and that is a really good one IMO.

Just shattered my Spiegelau IPA glass. Distracted by my lovely wife, the White Tornado who also just f'd up some of my clothes in the dryer.... Crushing a Labatt Blue Light to prepare for a high ABV drop to make my mind easy. Listening to Jimi Hendrix at H I G H volume. Salute!

Got out and did a very pleasant 40 mile bike ride with friends this morning, then got home in time to watch the Gamecock men play Georgetown on FS1.

NBW cross-post. This beer is really good. Worth a quick road trip to Wisconsin from the other NFL NFC North states. Or Iowa.

    Black Horizon bringing the heat!!
They added ghost pepper to their Crimson Pact collaboration with Whiskey Hill. An imperial porter with raspberry and cacao nibs to create Crimson Hellfire on nitro presentation.
You can't call it Hellfire without bringing the heat. This is no mass market hot sauce, but the raspberry and chocolate still shine through.

After my neighborhood tasting group's tasting yesterday, thought a Czech Pilsner from Heist would be appropriate to straighten out my palate!
    Cheers!

Trying this for the first time -- I usually drink hyper local Connecticut beers and this was brewed in North Carolina (yeah I would have thought Colorado ). It's a great thing to consume with my lemon feta antipasti snack this rainy afternoon

It’s a miserable rainy and windy day in these parts. Riding it out with this fine Galaxy IPA from Threes.

Love to see Wisconsin and New Glarus represented. Was living in Wisconsin 50 years before relocating to Connecticut a few years ago.

[IMG] Today's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) Old Irving Beezer (6.9% canned 8/9/22): A NEIPA from Illinois with Citra and Mosaic flavors of orange, nectarine, peach, and some bitter pine notes.
    versus
    2) Junkyard Jolly Meal (7.0% canned 10/10/22): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Strata and Sabro for flavors of lemon-lime citrus, coconut, kiwi, mango. Dry and clean.
    versus
    3) BlackStack Microdosing Strata (7.2% no date): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Strata for flavors of ripe mango flesh, some strawberry bubblegum and pink grapefruit.

    4) WarPigs High Celebrant (8.75%): A Doppelbock from Indiana with flavors of caramel, brown bread, with some syrup and strudel sweetness.
    versus
    5) New Glarus Weizen Doppelbock (No ABV): A Weizenbock from Wisconsin with flavors of bananas and bread, bubblegum, yeast, and German spices. Soft and creamy.
    (All beers correctly matched blind)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    3) BlackStack Microdosing Strata:
Very nicely done with the Strata hop here to give the mango, pink grapefruit, and strawberry flavor. Has a somewhat wild yeast flavor to give a bit of bubblegum flavor as well. I've seen this sometimes with the Mango-flavored Strata NEIPAs. Old Irving was a flop of a NEIPA, although old. Junkyard was a close second with nice Sabro flavors.

    5) New Glarus Weizen Doppelbock:
Tons of sweet banana bread flavors. Such a soft, creamy mouthfeel and smooth finish. New Glarus can do wonderous things with their yeast and they nailed it here. No idea what the ABV is, but I don't care. Incredibly soft and drinkable. We are blessed with this one.

My palate might be shot now so we'll see what I get next. Maybe they have a seltzer for reset?

How about a group effort? What should I get next?
    Shock with sour?
    Ease with the pepper-less variant?
    Alter the heat to bourbon?
    Let me know.
