Today was errands, chores, and an hour and a half of remote work. Short break before making dinner.
WXRT Saturday Flashback was 1977. I turned it on just in time to hear this.

I listened to this album at work earlier this week, and they played this track on Flashback.

Absolutely delicious. Restoring (somewhat) my faith in NEIPAs. Very well made and enjoyable.

 

It got a little chilly and rainy tonight, so went with something tonic. Only one more of these puppies left, and then that's all she wrote. Will hide it in the cellar.
Multiple flavors and aromas here. Upon opening get a wine- like smell. Tastes like a Barrel-ager. Very complex.
Already missing this guy, but taking solace knowing there are other soldiers ready to take his place. Straafe Hendrick, were counting on you.

 

Aahhh. This is better, albeit super hoppy.

First carl pils advent beer

 

Food time, so I walked up to a good local spot...shrimp scampi bucatini at Alice Blue. I normally get a huge burger here, but needed to change it up ha. Ignore or not the ultra dry and elegant gin martini.


Back home, with an excellent French Press Imperial Coffee Porter from Saint Arnold. More McCoy Tyner spinning. His late 70's live album The Greeting, which is fantastic.





Fly With The Wind always seems to floor me, what a great song.

Anyway, here goes:

Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch white head over a slightly hazy, straw colored body with some lacing.

Nose of citrus, bread, wet hay, and a bit of peppery spice.

Taste of bread and a tad spice with a slightly peppery finish.

Good fulfilling mouth feel.

Overall, this is very well done and much better than the original can.
I hope this is can conditioned in the near future.

Tough loss in Jersey tonight, too many consecutive losses on the hardwood, Rutgers just achieved the same likeability status as Purdue (almost). 'Gonna Willetize myself @russpowell style since I'm so worked up over this game (the only thing missing is the hot tub). Don't know how this happened, but hey, Purdue / Michigan face off in less than an hour for the Big 10 Football Championship ... ...

Happy Saturday. It's our 26 month anniversary of meeting and still every month is a celebration. We waited an hour for some Texas Roadhouse. Been a while for me, but those rolls are next level. Need to come during the week sometime.

It feels like 16 degrees outside, so it’s totally fine weather for grilling some skewers. At least the beer stays cold.

I watched this special last night. It was awesome.

 

The second sunset photo looks like what I would see when I was working in Antarctica. I am not a good photographer by any means (much to my Dad's chagrin, he is a retired photographer and newspaper editor). Though it was almost impossible not to take a good picture while there, I don't know how I could have taken something like this, but this is my photo hanging on my wall I took from Antarctica

This was taken on film, not digital. My Dad developed this, I'm sure that helped in the quality ha.

Well we got 3 apps and destroyed them all. I never really thought about it before, but blooming onion is the only socially acceptable way to eat a whole onion in one sitting. I have no regrets, will do again. I ordered the prime rib next. More pernicious ipa of course.

This one goes out to @Resistance88 ! Another big barrel aged stout from Grimm! “Barrel Aged Sumi Zest”. Stout aged in bourbon barrels with orange zest and vanilla!

 

Hardywood GBS with a Liga Privada T52. 60 degrees here in Virginia, not feeling too "Christmasy" yet but it's a darn good winter beer all the same.
