A ten-hour, 850km drive is in the rearview mirror, and every bloody km had me thinking about the moment in the picture below. This is from the father-in-law's deck at Malua Bay on the south coast of NSW. Such a drive and such a view deserves what is to my mind the best IPA in Australia, Crankshaft IPA, by Bentspoke Brewing in Canberra.

I followed it up with a very generic imported German Pilsner but the view makes up for what that beer lacks.

    Cheers!

Good day Az! Nothing that glamorous as a view here but still a nice fresh and cold SNAPPY to kick off the week:

MC77 (Serrapetrona, Marche, ITA) - BREAKING HOPS - Double IPA (8,2%)
Double IPA with Nelson Sauvin, Citra and Mosaic hops.
Already drunk, but first time in the can.
On the nose immediately resin and weed and citrus notes.
Medium/abundant foam with a good structure, which does not disappear.
Deep blond color, almost completely transparent.
Double IPA body in the mouth, with a noticeable malt part, but it is absolutely hidden by an overwhelming taste of hops ranging from herbaceous and resinous bitterness to citric (grapefruit) and tropical (a hint of melon) fruitiness.
The freshness of the product is evident.
The bitterness is decidedly strong (I appreciate it a lot) and is felt very clearly on the tongue while the fruity notes remain on the palate.
Truly a double IPA that is very happy to be drunk by those who are not specific drinkers of this style of beer.
This confirms itself as an excellent brewery.

Wow, this is a stunning location. It must be really hard to not want to sit on that deck all day and neck a few hoppy ones. Thanks for sharing and I hope you enjoy some rest after this long drive.

Also I'd be eagerly waiting to see your 2022 beer stats in the other thread.

From West Coast with SNPA to the East Coast with Brooklyn, following this path and logic I should end up with a beer from Western Europe:

Beautiful pictures and open @AzfromOz ! I have a few ideas of pictures from the Los Angeles area for my "vacation" (I haven't worked since 2019) beyond bar and brewery pictures.

One from the cellar, need to work aggressively to make room for the remaining 70 beers in my basement.

Full take in the 2023 Cellar Review thread. Bottom line, there are few beers I get evangelical about, and this one is among the few (Beachwood Amalgamator and Trappist Rochefort 10 are two additional beers that also come to mind). Simply the best, wouldn't change a good damn thing, whether fresh out the gate or 1-3 years refrigerated.

Hope you are able to enjoy a next level beer today Beer Advocates!

Good day BAs! Thanks @AzfromOz for starting today's thread. Lovely views - make me want to head into the boonies.
Today's New Breakfast Beer is one from the backlog in reefer #1 (After stripping the extraneous url attached.):

I have a few more of these (J.W. Lees' stuff in general) lurking in reefer #1 - one for about 20 years.
this one is pretty good. Rating 3.77, rDev -8.9%. Nicely caramel in nose, taste, and appearance.

It is 7 AM, drinking a Guinness 0.0.
I wasn't impressed two nights ago but my taste buds have adjusted, and this is a very nice NA. Going to buy more.
The trick seems to let it settle and slightly warm for 5 or so minutes.

Huh - synchronicity strikes - joining @Reidrover in doing that 0 Guinness on my day off from everything, no run, no beers. That last Deep Space last night hit me hard. And my body is exhausted. Hat tip to @AzfromOz for getting us started today....

Cheers all - great day here, sunny, blue skies - just nice. Have a good one.

Yes, I called it and I’m getting closer, beer wise to Western Europe and drinking La Trappe Quad. @Beer-Panda approved.
