Good day BAs! Off to a snowy morning here - we got about 2 inches overnight - but it's wet, heavy snow. The current temp is 29 F (-2C) and the weather guessers suggest scattered snow for the rest of the day. This is the first measurable snow we've had since before xmas.

Today's New Breakfast Beer is another from the BA Extreme Stout box:

This is a good RIS but it's certainly not "Extreme" (Rating 3.97, rDev -5.5%). So far, of the first seven randomly picked from the box, only Sam's Wake Up World Wide Stout has been extreme - metric tonnes of coffee and alcohol.

Good morning, BAs! My schedule is a bit wonky right now. A couple one hour naps over the last 30 hours. Going to try a beer, some lunch, and try to get some more sleep when I can.

    Rince Cochon Blonde.

Thanks @Shanex for bringing this one from France! I had it with me since last Thursday. Sunday-evening I finally could put it in the fridge at home. This may be not a spectacular beer, but I have been looking for it for some time

Nice heavy (Belgian) blonde to me. Somewhat sweet, but in a good way. Gives me a hint of Leffe Blonde too, but that is probably just me. The alc by vol of about 8,5 % is one of my favourite ranges too. I would buy this on a regular basis if it was available here.

    Cheers all!

Thank you for kicking off the proceedings today @Ozzylizard . Sorry for your photo mishaps, have issues with postimages last week from my PC but it works from the phone.

Working on the cellar this week, kicking it off with this fruited Rye Ale.

Quick review posted in the Cellar Review thread. Bottom line, this was much better fresh in 2020, but still enjoyable and drinkable.

Listening to the Lin Brehmer tribute on live now streamed here. Been with the station from 1984 until yesterday morning when he passed. I even sat through a Rolling Stone song for Lin, one of his favorite bands, but I'll have to switch if they play a second. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good to know and happy that it made it safely from Amsterdam to The Hague

I also agree that it’s a sweet beer, not overly so.

Pretty well balanced and the Leffe comparison is accurate only a tad stronger and more subtle… cheers!

it’s solid. s’mores is not my favorite combination of flavors / additives and there’s so much additives it takes away from the barrel presence a little bit but it’s still enjoyable. i get some barrel on the back end of the finish for sure but not much on the nose at all or up front in the taste.

interesting to note, i just got these cans from the brewery on saturday and assumed it was a new batch… wrong! these are dared february 2022 (which is fine, just interesting to me that they busted these back out all kind of out of nowhere).

Howdy folks! Thanks @Ozzylizard for 3747. Hoping the weekend was alright for all. I've a few more small tasks to do here today and one of them, actually at the top of the list, is to make certain that I have a beer open and handy while doing the rest of the shit on the list. Beer! Castle Danger Lager Royale. It's ringin' the bell and I'm lettin' it in 'cause its really tasty. Cheers!! :beers:

I’ve talked about the Swedish alcohol monopoly before, and I’m usually a fan of it. Sometimes, the sheer amount of time it takes to get stuff on the shelves is a bit crap. This beer was released on Friday. It was canned in August. Now, it has held up very well, but damn, I would have loved to have tried it sooner.

Good afternoon Advocates, enjoying another Burial and Other Half Colab, this one being a single IPA. This is pretty smackable as it is light and refreshing and of course very flavorful with a touch of peach, mango, and orange. Looking forward to the next one at poker tonight!

    1) Drekker Fangs Out (6.7% canned 12/20/22): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Centennial, Citra, Mosaic, and Galaxy for flavors of tropical orange, tangerine, and pineapple with a mild bitterness.
    versus
    2) Wiley Roots Three C’s Perpetual Movement (6.8% no canning date): A NEIPA from Colorado with Citra, Centennial, Cascade for flavors of tangerine, tropical peaches, papaya. Resinous and sweet. (Correctly matched the pair blind)

    Winner:
    1) Drekker Fangs Out
: A great and standard NEIPA from Drekker. The Centennial and Citra hops are done well, with just a touch of that Galaxy bite. Goes to show not every NEIPA has to be a double+. Clean, rounded, and balanced.
