The weather has been mild for a week, but more snow and cold is in the forecast.
Today's lunch beer a favorite. Wish I could find some closer than Colorado.

Made a note of Auvers sur Oise. When I looked it up on Google maps I saw Van Goghs grave is also there.

By the way, since last week I understand who the lady in your avatar is. Striking resemblance!

    Cheers

...the last of six beers Jack sent me...this is the only double beer he sent...I believe I drank the other bottle as the first of the six he sent...a very nice home brew...rich, malty, tasty...

    1) Humble Forager Forbidden Fortune (8.0% canned 11/1/22): A NEIPA from Wisconsin with Mosaic Nelson, Strata for flavors of grapefruit, passionfruit, peaches, pineapple. Oat cream for a smooth, soft finish.
    versus
    2) Other Half Space Diamonds (8.5% canned 10/31/22): A NEIPA from NY with Galaxy for flavors of grapefruit citrus rind, peaches, some cream. (Mismatched the two blind)

    Winner:
    1) Humble Forager Forbidden Fortune:
Both of these are bangers. Space diamonds drinks with fantastic flavors from the Galaxy with a touch of grapefruit citrus rind. Humble Forager was extremely similar. Tons of passionfruit citrus with a smooth oat cream body. Surprisingly both were nearly similar. Expected from Other Half, but Humble Forager went out of their way to impress me with this one.

I saved this from the black hole at the back of the ‘other’ fridge. 8 months old or so. No issues. Messorem Bracitorium I’ll etait un fois: Il Diavolo Italian Pilsner.

Well, ya'll know I'm not a big fan of 16 oz cans - but I did want to get some Second Fiddle. Well, all they had was 4 packs of 19 oz cans (01/11/2023) for the same price as 4 packs of 16 oz cans so here ya go, and it's delicious!..

That view just looks cold - pretty though. We get the snow tomorrow I believe. Hopefully no big deal since I have a dentist appointment at 12 - long overdue thanks to the pandemic.

Haha - no, but that Shackleton book is a favorite (have a first edition of Lansing's book)....this particular boat was gifted to me a few years back, (an English built twin keeler called an Alacrity), and I decided to leave her in the water several winters ago, and she fares just fine! Very solid cruising boat!
    Cheers, Dave!

Nice - good hike, but you have great hiking areas. I've been trying to get out and walk more everyday but I have no exciting places to walk around me. I live on a circle though so I can walk around the circle multiple times but it gets a little boring.

...yes, the Shakelton and Endurance story is one of the finest true sea stories out there...one of my favorite books, too...I suppose you've read the story about the whaling ship Essex...another fantastic but true story...I've got a surprising amount of books (fact and fiction) about sea stories...always good reading...

...plus other books I have from the likes of Melville, London, William Hope Hodgsdon, Greek and Roman stories and histories involving the sea, military naval tales, etc....

    ...Cheers, Jerry...

Had to dump an awful canned stout from Anchorage (feels bad man). This is what I really needed. 12oz needs to be the standard again, and that’s coming from a post-hazeboy era beer drinker
