For whatever reason, I'm a much better surfer after a couple of delicious DIPAs.

Steven Sour, the new sour IPA from Magic Hat in collaboration with Vermont Pub and Brewery. I was hoping for something along the lines of Trinity's Red Swingline. Instead it is a tall glass of "meh", or more accurately a tulip of "meh".

This beer catches alot of flack over here but I think it's a tasty northern European pilsner. They did away with the adjuncts in the early 2000s and it has a balanced bitterness with a mostly dry malt body. The Swedish brewed version is 4.2% instead of 4.6%, so equal to Bud Light in abv, yet it has a nice pilsner taste to it since it's non-adjunct, isn't as heavily fermented and still has a good bitterness and some herbal hops in the background.

This can costs 9kr plus 1kr in deposit at the monopoly store, so about 1.2 dollars without deposit, but that's with Swedish alcohol taxes. In Denmark they cost alot less, half price or less pretty much.

Cool, you know I never been to Sweden, Denmark yea, but I always heard how expensive it was the further North you go....

Yeah that's pretty much the case. Denmark is really, really cheap compared to Swedish prices. Finland is slightly more expensive than Sweden due to higher alcohol taxes, and Norway is the most expensive by a longshot, which has created a large across-the-border trade in alcohol and groceries. Norwegians buy alcohol in Sweden, Finns buy alcohol in Estonia, Swedes buy alcohol in Denmark and Danes buy alcohol in Germany :stuck_out_tongue: .
