Technically from yesterday so I’m cheating here but opened some bangers with a few friends.

 

Good day BAs! Thanks @AzfromOz for having the first beer from today's thread! It's currently 10 F (-12 C) and it snowed overnight for an accumulation several flakes deep - I left tracks when I went after the paper.

Today's New Breakfast Beer:



Very refreshing, particularly for a year-old beer stored at room temperature. Rating 4.02, rDev -2.2%.

Didn't get a chance to respond before yesterdays thread got closed. For Southern Yankee, I always go to the Crafthouse on Alabama. I'm a strict inner looper as they say ha, no way I would go all the way north to FM 1960 to their brewery. The Crafthouse is just a restaurant/bar though. They don't brew there, just their satellite tap room, or whatever you want to call it. They just brought back the cherry brown. bruin on tap (its not exactly a Flemish sour, but really close), as well as their Belgian Quad so they probably just didn't have a chance to update their online menu. Its a great place, just a little expensive, though they do happy hour and specials throughout the week. A pizza and two pints for like $25 I think is pretty good deal on Tuesday's, every once in a while they do break even bottles of good Bourbon, so its like really cheap Buffalo Trace products on occasion. Other things like that.

Anyway, if you ever come to Houston let me know, I'll take you around

I'm off today, but probably having beers with a friend later, not sure if I'll be checking in here then, but will see...

Introducing MI, MI, MI, an extraordinarily drinkable triple NEIPA. It's loaded with sweet pineapple and mango aromas which carry throughout. Peach, orange mimosa, and a piney hop bitterness with fresh bread notes on the solid malt back bone.

No abv whatsoever!!!! All tropical juice, pineapple, mango, citrus,ruby red grapefruits,
A crusher for 10 percent, no gut bomb feelings either or burning. This could be world class if the world tried it. A ➕️ grade all day long.
Also the smell is Big , Bold , NEIPA

 

Happy Friday BA's! Overtime, chores, shopping done. It's wet and windy 56 degrees, nothing compared to what a lot of y'all are going thru. Wicked Weed Dr. Dank, and it surely is. Taste is a cross between grapefruit peel and fresh mulched grass, the nose has a hint of weed.

 

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply! Your Fish n Chips looked excellent, so I'd probably go with that option. Would definitely let you know if I was headed down there, there are so many great places you feature in your posts. Hopefully one day, you'll go beyond Champaign to visit Chicago.

I originally planned on having a beer later today. However, I just wasted an hour with Dr. Evil's Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and their "system error" of four and counting bogus COBs. Hopefully this beer selection will let me return to golden slumbers.

It's finally going up in the 40s today and there's a lot of melting going on.

The beer I'm having is, imho, the best new beer to come from Rogue in years. I'm going to have to review it again, well just change some numbers, to give it the credit that it deserves. The only "complaint" that I have is that it doesn't come in 16 ounce cans but rather 12 ounce slim cans.

From my cellar, pored at 50°. Bottled 3/12/21. Good, but not vibrant coffee like fresh.

Sitting in the dining room chatting with the door open - brrrrr! Full day - lunch uptown, take kid brother for some cardiac testing, then dinner party tonight with friends from HS/college. Cheers and have a great day from South Charleston WV!

 

Hey BA's - happy frosty Friday - 16 windy degrees here on the north coast - zero with the wind chill - freakin' cold for sure! Not certain Emma and I will venture out for a walk this afternoon - we will see - dreaming of warmer weather, blue skies and water, and lots of sailing in a few months!



mmmm, quite tasty - ordered this a while back from BrewDog in Columbus, when I ordered some NA brews of theirs - this is a nice coffee stout, and goes down easy for 8.5% abv

This is a nice little brewery way down in South GA (Valdosta). If you are ever making the trek down I-75 from Atlanta to FL, be sure to stop in and check them out. They do a number of beers well, including a solid Marzen in the fall and they use some locally grown ingredients, which I always appreciate. This one is Southern Isles Tropical IPA 6.5% ABV. Features Azaaca, Citra and Lemon Drop hops. It's an IPA the way I like them. They did a good job of selecting the three hops. It delivers nice citrus & tropical fruit aroma as well as a herbal/minty note on a firm malt backbone. The bitterness is notable but not palate destroying. It's a nicely balanced beer for an American IPA. It's not going to wow you like a Tropicalia or Stone IPA but it does invite you to have that 2nd one. Let's make it a great Friday at the VB. Tonight going with a pale ale from Lonesome Oak Brewing in Braunschweig, DE, and then am going to have a Rothaus Tannenzäpfle with my dinner. Best pils in Germany in my opinion. Great little pale ale, super fruity with some hops, and a totally unexpected brewery to have in Germany

 

Enjoying a bright and crisp Notch Kölsch Style Ale.

My lunch ended up being the IPA. That left over pizza is looking mighty good right now.
