    Next beer is my first from Magnify Brewing, Island Event IPA brewed with Nelson & Wai-iti hops and it's very good.

    We get a lot of UPS and FedEx deliveries in the neighborhood and I see how much they hustle. They must be in really good shape.

    I was amazed he was willing to take the time. That's something I love about the craft beer people. Overwhelmingly they are friendly, enthusiastic and open.

    I like the physicality of the job and working outside! It sometimes sucks when the weather is crappy, though, but it pays well and I don’t have to join a gym!

    ...interesting that you got that one through Tavour...I don't recall if I ever sent you any River North beers...my first exposure to the brewery was the (I think) first BA Denver beer crawl...the brewery wasn't listed on the tour, but that's where we ended up after an already inebriated stop at the sadly gone Falling Rock Tap House near Coors Field... @Todd may (or, like many of us) may not recall a lot of details at that point...regardless, the brewery has been a favorite of mine over the years ever since...their core line of beers are solid, but, in my opinion, their dark beer and barrel aging offerings are where they shine...

    You've got me thinking. After years of BF being hard to find I now have verticals of 2021, -22, and -23 in the cellar. Never even cracked a 2023 after I bought it. Made a decision: this will be a Super Bowl beer on Sunday. Will celebrate as Iggles storm to victory.

    Smog City Radioactive Fallout hazy IPA.
    Kiiiiiller nose on this one, the mouthfeel/flavor didn’t match it for me but the nose itself was worth it.

    Enjoying one of my last NEW beers from the Extreme Beer Box. Black Daruma from Japas Cervejaria. A Japanese & Brazilian - brewed by women. This is a Russian Imperial Stout with persimmon. My colleague has a persimmon tree, so I've tried a few. Definitely comes through! Cheers!

    ...one of my favorite stories was getting to talk for 30+ minutes with the Oskar Blues head of brewing operations about the reformulation of Mama's Little Yella Pils...the Reader's Digest version is that there was a lot of talk and speculation on BA about the who, how, what, and why of the reformulation of the beer, yet nobody (as far as I know) bothered to ask the brewery about the reasons for the change (i.e, go to the source for the answer to your questions)...I contacted the brewery and about a week later got a phone call, on a weekend, from Tim Matthews...the fact that a dude like him, on a weekend where he probably had better things to do, spent time to directly talk and BS with me about the specific question and beer in general just blew me away...

    ...I still find most breweries / brewers will take the time to answer basic questions...so, like you say, "they are friendly, enthusiastic and open"...
