I also miss Green Flash. That brewery represents happier and younger days to me. I remember idk how many SuperBowls ago bringing home a 22oz bomber of their DIPA for the game which was my penultimate beer that evening

Heady Topper……it’s my first time trying this beer. Haven’t seen it in Cali up until today. it’s very nice, I see what all the hype is about.

 

Ohhhh man, yes. Back when the tasting room was in the brewery and you were surrounded by all the tanks. They make one of the best west coast ipa’s ever, imo

 

Thanks Mike, shell fish looks good, I love mussels, we used to fill pails of them for my grandparents when I was a kid. My grandmother was an excellent from the old country cook. She wouldn’t eat anything that was fresh caught or killed.
Me and my wife can still outlast the grandkids last time we had them they were falling asleep at the dinner table. We have a bunch of stuff planned.

Now that @Philg1985 got his box today, I’m doing a side-by-side that I’ve been interested in: old Big Foot vs new Big Foot.

Starting with a 2011 vintage from him, considering the stories I’ve heard around craft beer drinkers, I fully expect this beer to have transitioned into a brown ale or stout, maybe a fruited sour, or milk…anything other than a barleywine.

IDK about you, but time stood still. The aroma is potent and the carbonation lively. Head is full bodied and doesn’t burn away too quickly. The flavor up front is still massive hops, bitter, but quickly buffered by the lightly sweet malts. Maybe the only difference is a bit of a white wine dry quality on the very end of the swallow.
Holds up beyond amazingly well. I think this might be a forever beer, able to withstand anything.

Next up after this is gone…2023.

 

Green Flash had a double digit ABV IPA years ago that was my first imperial beer at a beer fest. Good memories. I think it was Green Bullet TIPA.

Good looking critters. Sad to see Bells Best Brown Ale in their retired pages. That one was my favorite. Founders makes a few good ones, but not in regular rotation.
