Lawn work done. Dogs fed. Drove across the peninsula and carried another load of stuff up the stairs and into the condo. Taking a break with a delicious Doppelbock from Lupulin Brewing, Big Lake, MN:



Amazing beer! Beautiful to behold. Rich malty nose with some dried fruit sweetness. Taste is semi sweet malt with subtle flavors of dates, raisins and dried cherries. A smidge of hop bitterness on the backend. No warmth from 8%. Gold medal at 2020 US Beer Open; Bronze at 2020 GABF! I like this style and always have…maybe it’s time to stop trying to find the proverbial needle in the haystack hazy, and spend my money on styles I actually enjoy. Cheers gang!

 

Founders Chocolate Cherry KBS BBA Imperial Stout, 11.6% ABV. Pours black with a nice 2+ finger light brown head that left great lacing. Nose is bourbon, roasty coffee, chocolate, and sweet cherry. Taste follows, slightly bitter, roasty, slightly sweet, with coffee on the close. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding to world-class adjacent. I really didn't expect to like this, but I do.

I rated this .02 less than my favorite KBS, Mackinac Fudge and .03 ahead of Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa and Espresso. In a side-by-side with Mackinac, this could win. The cherry isn't even slightly medicinal, and the roasted coffee is more present than the cherry. I could be biased, since this is my first real beer after dry-February.

 

See if you can just order singles then - I keep singles of high E, B and G strings on hand - mainly because occasionally i break one and the rest of the strings are fine.

Had it next to a fresh DB VSOJ...I'm stunned to say the OG tastes AT LEAST as good as the new drop, if not a little better.

Pink Miata 3. An IPA brewed by Veil. Good, but probably not one I would buy again anytime soon.

OK, one more Brewhouse Brown, which I'm already half way through...man I love this beer. Teeling Single Malt as well...

It is Ralph Towner's birthday today...so spinning one of his best.

I bought my wife those flowers for Valentines Day and they still look great, it’s the gift that keeps on giving.
I really like these guys from Pittsburgh

 

Not confident that Cold Brewed DIPA is my thing. Not bad, just not great.

 

The delicious Hippie Chick ..not sure why, but this particular one smells incredible.

 

I loved that show, Leigh French was my favorite, Share a little tea with Goldie.
Those guys were actually pretty progressive for the time.
