    Happy Friday!

    #3814 is delivered, kicking and screaming and full of vigour, its Irish blood hot and heady. It's repped by Art Guinness's iconic liquid meal and the miracle of nitrogenation.

    Iconic Irish it might be, but Guinness Draught out of the can is a pale shadow of the version fresh from the tap. I have a few of these in the fridge to get through, and while I sure won't complain, it does not bring to life the heady days of the 1990s and 2000s, packed shoulder to shoulder in faux Irish pubs, cigarette stink suffusing all, tinnitus-inducing band smashing my eardrums, sweat pouring from the body I'd so carefully coiffed a few hours earlier, and the prospect of another unsuccessful foray into the local ladies' affections looming large in my near term. Ah, to be young again, and if only this beer could transport me there!

    It’s a pleasant day, mild but cloudy though very windy.

    Drinking Trappistes Rochefort Tripel. Growing on me more by the day.

    Good day BAs! Thanks to @AzfromOz for starting today's thread - ah yes, the heady expectations and pedestrian frustrations from bar scenes from a previous life! Fortunately, thanks to copious volumes of Iron City back in the day, they are but pale ghosts that occasionally try to haunt me.

    The general interpretation of the Berliner Weisse style is one I generally enjoy, but, despite the higher ABV, this seems quite flavorless. Rating 3.45, rDev -11.3%

    G'day all!

    We have some snow flurries today; could be a bigger storm coming.

    This is a West Coast style IPA from Mountain Hops that I picked up yesterday. Nice grapefruit citrus with some grass and cracker malt. Good bitterness in the finish.

    Bottled 9/27/22. Poured at 55°. A great beer!

    An owner/brewer from way up north is visiting the pub this afternoon and I plan on going to the meet and greet…see y’all later and have a foolhardy Friday y’all!

    Uiltje Brewing Co. has a sesionable pale ale. A very low ABV one. Probably @Beer-Panda had it before?

    Oops, that last Dutch pale ale went down really quick. Now drinking Fear of the Dark, an English Stout by Iron Maiden. Maybe rings a bell to @EmperorBevis?

    Good day - and a hoo-ya to ya!

    As the South Florida sunshine wafts in from yonder window, we pour up a Cigar City El Catador Club XV ‘Deo’ BBA Imperial Stout - with sweet potato(!), vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Big beer.,. Cheeeeeers!

    Called “she of the grain,” there’s no better honoree than Deo, the Greek goddess of agriculture, for this Imperial Stout. The adjuncts added to its bourbon barrel-aged base beckon those seeking divinity and balance.
    Or maybe just a plate of maple glazed bacon, pancakes and eggs.,.

    Since severe storms are predicted here for this afternoon, I altered my schedule and walked early. And usually, after a walk, I have a beer. I found this Leine's Honey Lemon Light Lager hiding in the fridge door. Not usually a morning drinker, but @ 4% abv, it foots the bill.
