We do love us some Friday's at the VB. The local import rep for Göller beer offered me a couple of free tankards and, well I didn't turn him down. Thought I would show one off with their pils. Very nice pils. It had some age on it but I hope a fresh supply will be in stock soon with the weather warming up. Prost!

 

Wait Until Yesterday, a Red Rye IPA. Very tasty.

 

I'm in Longmont near the airport. Got a bit of grit in the eye as well in the 5 seconds it took to snap a pic. We had a lull for 20 minutes but it is back. May sneak out for a beer run, though.

Yes, the latest update for the fire near Teller is about 1100 acres but that was hours ago. Scant info on that fire on the web. Stay safe.

 

Hello seekers! Thanks @AzfromOz for todays thread and for a smile-generating lil' stroll down memory lane...at least one of the lanes! Good schtuff! My hands are tired and need I ale & pie. Workin' and drummin' long & hard for this beer which I brought back from good ol' So Dak at the top of this month. From Spearfish: Crow Peak 11th Hour IPA. Real nice beer. Very lovely balance and bittering. Hmmm. Looks like some poo poo weather is fixin' to be here soon...again. Dang it. Thank goodness for that stubby lil' beer fridge and BeerAdvocate. Cheers!!

Enjoying another Olde Hickory BA stout today. This one is aged in whiskey barrels and with maple crystals. Given it has been in the bottle nearly 1.5 years, the bourbon and vanilla flavors have pulled together nicely with the maple adjunct making this one an easy sipper.

I don’t normally drink Stouts in the afternoon, but I’m participating in the March Madness thread, and this brewery was one of the three in the final four that I personally visited. Besides, I’ll be watching the Virginia Tech ladies in the NCAA semifinal later, so I need Inerd to be alert! Cheers!

Ah, there is no transporting nectar that I know of to completely embody nostalgia. Rather, memory has to function well to know the wild and convivial cavorting of 1968-1980. I was married in 1981. Memory is only titillating but the best we can do.

 

BA's, the problem with buying you Maibock stock too early is you may run out before May. I wonder sometimes why this beer style has not taken hold in America. Especially since there's a ready made slot for it in the seasonal drinking rotation.

 

8% ABV beer and rye whiskey. That's a massively quick start to your Friday. You may need a cup or two of Joe later too. Man, I would be dozing in my easy chair by 8pm after a long work week. Great pour btw.
