Saw this on the shelves finally, then got home and realized it's stout day, so I'm going to compromise and drink one in black & white.
On to a homebrewed IPA. I am supposed to be working, but my damn computer won't log in from home. Oh well.
Laid off for the winter..last day of work...was gonna drink a lot of IPA's..but since it's international Stout day...I decided to drink a few that were in the fridge...Bell's Java stout and Founders Breakfast Stout and My Homebrew Breakfast...which I'd wouldn't be embarrassed to share with anyone...It's awesome

That first sip was soooooo tart I thought it was infected Peruvian Morning for a second. It did settle down but it's certainly not a fav.
Happy stout day! Started off by having a 2012 Backwoods Bastard on draught which is NOT a stout, so I figured I needed to have some Breakfast Stout to celebrate properly
Recycled picture for what it's worth.
You wouldn't think it but this beer ages phenomenally. I've had it with 5 years on it and it was divine! When fresh, it's just OK to me.
I believe that's what they call Winning.

The Angel's Share - The Lost Abbey
this is delicious, delivers exactly what I expect, what I want
it deserves to be on a once a year rotation
this is a ball bearing from a train
you can see me in it, my father inlaw is there too
it is my most prized possession of all things that exist from my childhood
I have two, I had three
gave one to a buddy for his wedding, he knew how much it meant to me
he appreciates it as I do which is satisfying, he will help it continue to exist
it is satisfying to hold, it cannot be ignored
it is an object aggressively expressing it's potential energy
it would rather be somewhere else and I am impeding its progress, it's impending
the cost to me is the cost of loss of energy, mine, it costs to hold it
regardless of who you are . . . . . you will drop it
easy to imagine an angel in a flame, seems rather natural - why not
below I see one reaching, wings spread - do you see it ? - maybe it is arriving
I believe in the big bang
which truly is unknowable therefore fucking ridiculous but only slightly less so than
angels arriving on flame
little angel dudes and ladies would be welcome, I'd Share an Angel's Share
androgyny is boring, commit
this precious will exist vastly longer than me
I keep it in a drawer with other old now mythic items
one daughter says these are what she wants when I pass
her enthusiasm charms me
most things in a drawer stop aging
I'm too old to die young now Brother Dede
scientists are priests, good ones, glad they are around so they are able to convince me
to believe in what by all measures is impossible from my observations
it is faith
this too has potential energy
this sphere is power, it smells of determination and longevity
first one of the year and tasting great!

A nice beer to join y'all with! Cheers on this day of dark, hearty brews!
Brilliant photos and brilliant prose. Then there's the perfect beer for the composition. It's a sense of something that is unyielding, unending and aflame! Fantastic! Bravo!
Daisy Cutter @ the source. Happy Friday BA's! Cheers!
If I ever open a brewery and start bottling/selling my beers, I'm hiring you to write my labels.

Mine, too. I think Testament doesn't get a lot of props in the thrash scene. Last two albums have been more than solid and have kicked some a**!
