It's 53F/11C and overcast here so far today - looks like another day working in the garage. Since it's dark, today's New Breakfast Beer is a Czech Dark Lager, from a retaliatory strike by @snaotheus (Thanks Ryan!):



Malty and slightly bitter - only the second of this style for me. Rating 3.63, rDev -6.4%

Punchin' in a little early today. Thanks @ChicagoJ for this thread. Loads of domestic chores to get at. Ahhhh the joys of being a home owner! It's like 61F, overcast white sky, can't find the sun and there's a constant lite breeze...which filled my sails and set me directly in front of the beer fridge to nab this Oliphant Swamp Thang Smoked Wee Heavy. 9% ABV and a peat-smoked malt bomb is a good way to start this fine day! Cheers!
and watched these 2 strangers wander around the back yard>

 

Cleaned out the rain gutters earlier. Always a fun event. More fun is drinking beer after the job is done.

Sierra Nevada Summerfest

 

A pint of a Russian Imperial Stout from Brävery Brewing outta Lancaster, California.
Have a box to drop off at post office and decided to walk. It's a rare gloomy day today and tookthe scenic route through Echo Parque . The Baby Duckiezz come right around spring and it's always nice to see this kinda stuff.
There's better ways to spend a tuesday morning, but there's much worse as well

Good evening Advocates,
endless working day today too... and as soon as it ends the anxiety for Thursday's semi-final begins (AS Roma - bayer leverkusen).
And while the light rain that characterized most of the morning has resumed outside, I try to find some peace in this new for me beer:

Birrificio Balabiòtt (Domodossola, ITA) - SCIÙRA - Honey Ale (6,8%)
33 cl can (€2.90).
On the label: "Best before: 23/03/2024".
It is a red ale with 6.8% local (Piedmontese) chestnut honey.
As soon as it is opened, it immediately smells of honey and other malted hints of biscuit and caramel.
Poured it is a beautiful dense red with a not abundant foam, very soft and of little persistence.
In the mouth medium body but practically absent carbonation, beer that is flat and smooth.
Very pleasant and delicate taste of honey accompanied by sweet notes of caramel and cereals. Light toasting. Soft finish on the palate in which notes of honey and caramel are still felt, but dry on the tongue that invites you to take another sip.
Not very complex beer, but which has a good balance, which enhances the taste of chestnut honey without being morbid or excessively sweet.
A more lively carbonation would have helped, but the drink was very tasty and pleasant.
Not a beer of my favourite style, but I enjoyed it.

BAs, I now gotta mix and apply 10 gallons of iron chelate compound to my birch trees. It just makes me thirst for BEER. My drinking pace is slow but it's essentially me returning to my pint every 5 min just boppin' all over my castle. Foggy Geezer is nowtime. Hello orange! Cheers!
