What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3863

I had a gum graft today and can’t eat or drink anything hot, LOL. So I was pumped to hear that our new local brewery, Autodidact, brewed a DIPA named Serpent’s Tale with D96 - one of my favorite breweries. I can detect some snake fruit influence but it’s really dank and weedy. They let slip that they used lots of Strata. Cheers to the weekend, BAs!

Fat Heads Hop Honcho DIPA (Strata, Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra) before I meet a friend at an awesome local brewery. This one is straight old school goodness. Herbaceous dank, earthy pine resin, floral, pineapple, citrus peel, and grapefruit from the hops to go with bready and honey-drizzled biscuit flavors from the malt.

 

Open Outcru Brewery. Bona Fids (Hefe) & Citrlum DDH Hazy IPA. got our passports..

Well after almost 7 periods of hockey last night , I'm prepared for another long night
with some American Adjunct Lagers , all new to me served from 473 ml cans
first up Hoyne Brewing 'Por Favor' Mexican Style Lager @ 4.4%
followed by Moon Under Water Brewpub 'Mexican Vienna Lager' @ 4.8%
then Luppolo Brewing 'El Malecon' Mexican-Style Corn Lager @ 5.0%
and tonight's closer Driftwood Brewery 'Spiff Corn Lager' @ 5.1%

Kicking off the weekend with this Narrow Gauge from Cloud City. I’m supposed to help coach a baseball game for my son’s team in about 2.5 hours but it is raining steadily so I am thinking I will be back at the virtual bar sooner than later.

So many great beers to enjoy this weekend. Getting into it with Amalgamator, a beautiful West Coast IPA from Beachwood. This one, canned 4/25 was generously donated by @ChicagoJ ! Thanks, Jason! Outstanding. Also celebrating #1 son’s twenty-fifth birthday tonight, so good Bourbon on deck! Damn I’m old. Happy Friday, y’all!

I have been on a “standard strength” IPA kick, lately, and our small-town local brand Size 7 (Steel Toe) is nearly a dead ringer for Two Hearted. Drank sooooo much Size 7…

Today I went with the OG, pairing with pizza and whacked-out arthouse films. It’s college all over again!
