Just another night cap for a fool. That said, maybe it made you drool. (This one is pretty good.)

Good day BAs! @RaulMondesi - thanks for opening the thread and Damn! That beer sounds GOOD!

Yet another decent day - Currently 58F/15C and mildly sunny - supposed to hit 72F/22C. Off this afternoon to Hoppin' Frog in Akron to pick up some beer - they don't usually open until 1600.

Yeah man. I was fortunate enuf to meet and chat with Gilberto Gil at one of his performances in Boston, MA in like 1989. He was the Minister of Music for Brasil. Don't know if he still holds that title. He's a very nice person.

Good morning BAs! Up early, some chores done, it’s coffee time - “Deth by Currants”:

Canned 9/23/22. Purchased at the brewery 5/11/23. Poured at 54°. Tart currants and chocolate. A fruity tart version of OG base. I’m not in love with this variety.

Today we will do some more brewery hopping. See y’all later today. Cheers and have a wacky Wednesday!

Hi there BAs! Thanks @RaulMondesi for 3868. Here we go. I just ordered 7 yards of black dirt to be delivered today. Fun in the sun! Creating an earthen mound for plantings up in the back yard. Lots of dragonflies outside today. Feelin' great after a fun night of drumming. Summit Triumphant. Cheers!

[IMG] 1) BlackStack We’re Not Waiting (5.2%): A Kellerbier from Minnesota with flavors of lemonflower, earthy yeast, and dry grains. Clean.
    versus
    2) Surly Hell Lager (5.0%): A German lager from Minnesota that has flavors of lemonflower with a dry yeasty and pale malt finish. (Correctly matched the two beers blind

    Winner:
    2) Surly Hell:
A German lager battle. Two of the best from Minnesota. BlackStack released this Kellerbier and it's done extremely well. Citrus, floral, dry and yeasty. Great stuff here and an underrated style. Ultimately no matter how good it was, not going to beat Surly Hell. Tons of lemonflower flavors that leave just a touch of sweetness. My favorite beer from Surly and one of the best summer beers out there.

...well, @DoctorZombies invited me up to Denver, Cerebral Brewing specifically, but I reluctantly declined...however, I did pick up a 4-pack of Cerebral beer a short time ago:

Cerebral Brewing Co. -- Collective Consciousness
    New Zealand pilsner
    ABV: 4.8%; pouring temperature: 54.7 ℉; canning info: n/a
Source: local purchase (Coaltrain Fine Wine, Craft Beer & Spirits)

    3.86/5 rDev 0%
    look: 3.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

Pale yellow body, lightly hazy; thick, soapy suds head, fairly long lasting. Outstanding nose comprised of berry, melon, and white grape must; very light cereal grain note. Mild taste; light touch of white grape juice; mild cracker; moderately intense hop bitterness; some wood-like elements. Medium body; smooth; light, woody dryness complementing a soft juiciness.

This is my first stab at the beer. It may be a bit warm (temperature-wise) for a pilsner-style beer, so I'll be revisiting this one soon enough but served at a cooler temperature. Anyway, this is generally a nice, light, refreshing beer.

    ...cheers, Doc...!!!

    1) Toppling Goliath Fire, Skulls, & Money (7.8% canned 1/27/223): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Nelson for flavors of grapefruit and orange citrus flower, vinous white grape, gooseberry with some pine and berry to balance. Juicy, complex, and clean
    versus
    2) Toppling Goliath Haze Bus (7.8% canned 4/24/23): A NEIPA from Toppling Goliath with Simcoe, Mosaic, and Citra for flavors of orange flower, pineapple, mango, light herbal. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) TG Fire, Skulls, & Money:
Another great Toppling Goliath Battle that was inevitable. Haze Bus is fresh off the block. Nice Mosaic and Simcoe for tropical flavors. Juicy and leans just a touch sweet. Not enough can be said for Fire, Skulls, & Money. 4 months out and still somehow drinks so well. The hop combination is perfect. Gooseberry and pine flavors with the addition of Nelson. This was my last so I hope they decide to brew it again soon. It's on another level for Toppling Goliath. As I drink this, I can't remember a NEIPA that I enjoyed more than Fire, Skulls, & Money.

Yardwork done and defective propane tank exchanged (so now I can grill chicken thighs tonight). The other tank leaked when I hooked up to my grill and the turkey fryer. First time that's ever happened to me. Now enjoying this wonderful Kolsch from Sunner.
