Weihenstephaner Festbier (5.8%): A German Festbier with flavors of lemon and floral hops, smooth and earthy pale Munich bread malts. A touch of honey.

Going down as my last Oktoberfest beer from 2022. This has grown on me and I’ve learned to appreciate it. Authentic with complex flavors. Not robust, but drinkable; which if you’re going to start pumping Festbiers out in the heat of August this is what you want. One of the most drinkable, but also complex, authentic German Festbiers. Only a few months until we get it fresh again.

That's a fantastic beer. I'm still hanging on to one canned version to drink when I get a craving over the summer!

On the backside of the work week with vacation coming all next week. Hurray!

Last can of this fantastic Helles from Good Word. This is the closest I've had that tastes similar to one of my favorite imports - Weihenstephaner Helles. Another batch is on the way in a couple more weeks. Looking forward to that!

Day 25 of the journey, brewery number 30 - Cerebral Brewing, drinking “Accidentally Matching” purportedly a WC IPA, hopped with NZ Cascade, CO Cascade and Citra:

Lemongrass, melon. Peppery. Mostly sweet melon. No pine. Very little bitterness. Watery. Drinks like a session American IPA. Meh.

This one was a nice drinker for me. I liked the bit of bitterness in here

I enjoy it when BA's document their beer travels in WBAYDN. Always interesting. The sights, the food, the beers, and beer partners along the way.

After confirming that a mediocre stout is, indeed, mediocre at best, it was time for a palate cleanser:

Halfway Crooks Beer Mtrc Helles 4.8%
This beer will fool you. You pour it out and think it looks thin for a Helles. No so. Plenty of body. It has some nice flavors of grainy maltiness and spiciness with a hint of citrus. This is a great summer beer. Bummer these guys are smack downtown Atlanta and no distribution. Tough brewery to get to from way up here in the N. GA foothills.

Well BA's, it's 54, raining and the wind is 10-15 mph, and StubHub emailed saying the seller sent an invalid transfer for the Foo Fighters tickets. So I'll get a credit and we'll drink beer in the warm cabin. Heady Topper in hand. @ChicagoJ you will receive 4/19 canned Alchemist beers!
