    Sierra Nevada Summerfest (5.0%): A “Summer” lager from California with flavors of lemon citrus, pine soap, and smooth bread malts. Light and clean.

    First revisit to this beer this year since they rebranded this from a Czech Pilsner to a “Summer Lager”. It still has light fruity notes and that signature “sappy pine and soap” flavor that I get in all Sierra Nevada beers. Very similar to previous years, but maybe drier and cleaner. Agree that it is a very enjoyable Summer Lager, but I don't think it ever had much of the Czech components I was able to appreciate.

    Since I’m not in this neighborhood often, we’re also visiting Gardiner Brewing, which is located in a barn on a farm. I’m paying homage to my New York Irish ancestors with a pint of Ireland Corners Red, which is surprisingly bitter with Cascade hops. Cheers

    Cheese curds from Illinois is like champagne from Antarctica. Why even make the attempt? But I will drink beer from Illinois with you one day. The people and beer from Illinois are wonderful.

    Busy day today - had to go into Wormtown to get my haircut. Whenever I do that, I have to make a stop at Austin Liquors to see what they have - I ended up picking up some Orval and a 4 pack of Second Fiddle. I stopped by a new cannabis dispensary near my house and picked up some nice flower, a couple of different strains I haven't had before. Not sure which one I will sample first later this evening. Before I get off my ass and make dinner, having an Allagash White.

    Actually haven’t but I used to follow the “lonely planet/globe trekker” series, also from England and the various host traveled the whole world from Vladivostok, Russia to Pretoria, South Africa not to mention the US and Latin America.

    The kind of show making me want to leave my living room and couch whenever I can afford to.

    Good afternoon, BAs!

    Earlier today, we tried out the new sports-ish bar that replaced the iconic Westerly craft bar, Malted Barley. It was good, but it's definitely a step back, in terms of both craft beer availability and simply the local community. With time, maybe Pooch's will endear themselves just as much, but that definitely doesn't happen overnight.

    Since I haven't been able to find any of this year's Hoptimum drop locally, and we were across the border, I decided to check in with one of my favorite bottle shops. Success! I tossed this into the freezer as soon as I got home, and I'm ready to take my first sip riiiight ...... nooooowwwwww ....
