Todd's reminder email arrived and... here I am with my pre-match beer, about to watch the Pallacanestro Brescia - Virtus Bologna, the Final of the Italian Basketball Super Cup.
I'm drinking (in a glass recently brought back from Budapest) a beer that I've already had the pleasure of drinking both in bottles and on tap, even directly at the brewery, located in the central Italian region called Marche.

Birrificio Mukkeller (Porto Sant'Elpidio, ITA) - MAZZU DE FIORI - India Pale Ale (7,1%)

50 cl bottle (between €6 and 7€ at the beershop)
On the label: "Lot: L2234L - Best before: 12/2023"
Freshly uncorked aromas of citrus and herbaceous hops.
Poured is very beautiful: deep golden, more than opaque, slightly cloudy, abundant foam and of decent consistency.
In the mouth you can immediately feel the malted part, with the beer being soft and full-bodied, the wolves quickly come into play which releases a taste of citrus and citrus peel (grapefruit, mapo, orange) and more weedy and woody notes.
The finish is sharply bitter, but not invasive... it disappears, cleaning the tongue and leaving a pleasant citrus taste on the palate
Full-bodied, full-bodied and tasty beer but everything is held together in a perfect balance that offers a satisfying but pleasant and not heavy drink.
A great IPA, in my opinion...I would definitely recommend trying it.

First full day of Fall and it is a beautiful day in Northwest Ohio. Enjoying a Dogfish Head Sea Quench Ale. Wilma loves to place & pose in high places and also loves a sip or 2 of beer for the effort.

 

Lunch prep underway, stuffed shells. Angry Chair Brewing Prison Gator DDH IPA is tasting great!

Woah that was rugged!

Only had 2 goals:

• Finish within rules and regs ✔️
• Don't get injured ✔️

Only took one big fall on the downhill. Tucked and rolled out like an acrobat. My right heel is one big blister.

Spent thousands of hours on that hill midnight to noon as a snowmaker in the 90s. Lots of nostalgia. Keeping that going by stopping at my old haunt, the Mad River Tavern, for French Onion Soup, a Burger, and a Bear Bones Lager.

Next race in 20 days. One step closer to Mountain Goat status!!!

After 60+ years of pushing a mower I bought a rider. The exercise of a pusher was what I enjoyed, but a bad hip is slowing me down. Getting old.

Berkshire Life on Märzen, 6.8% - this is phenomenal! Prost!



-Look: Deep copper-amber with a thick foam that lasts.
-Aroma: Sucker-punched me in the nose with brown-bread and molasses!
-Taste: Phenomenal rich brown-breads, rye crisps, slight white wine - Wow!
-Feel: Thin to medium with low carbonation, tight but slippery.
-Overall: Oh man, you have to try this - I'm glad I did!

Back from my grocery store/beer run…picked up, inter alia, another BOGO 6/pks of Space Dust…in the backyard with the dogs, drinking, you guessed it, a cold Space Dust:



I got some small limbs off of the shed this morning…still cloudy with an intermittent breeze this hot 86°, feels like 89° afternoon, so probably more beer drinking than yard work the remainder of today. Cheers y’all!
