    1) Jester King Pilsner (5.1%): A German Pilsner from Austin with flavors of lemonflower, lemon citrus, pale malts. Mildly sweet.
    versus
    2) Fair State Pilsner (5.1%): A German Pils from Minnesota with flavors of lemongrass, yeast, and dry flower. Bitter. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Fair State Pilsner:
German Pilsner battle. First try at Jester King all the way from Austin. Haven't had them before. Very promising pour and aromas. Flavor backs it up with a spritzy lemon citrus flavor. Very nice flavors and leans slightly sweet rather than bitter. Am very impressed with it.
Fair State is fantastic as always. One of the best German Pilsners. Floral, bitter, and clean still with excellent flavor. Referencing the thread about the West-Coast Pilsner style emerging, if it's anything like this one, it could be my new favorite style.

Good afternoon, advocates! Alaskan Amber on tap at the Dirty Dog Bar & Grill, Waverly, IA. Brilliant pairing with cheeseburger chowder and spicy chicken egg rolls. Cheers!

Done with dinner prep and in the oven doing its thing. Having a well deserved Stone IPA now.

    1) The Veil This World Is Not Real (8.0% canned 8/22/23): A NEIPA from Virginia with Citra, Mosaic, Nelson, and Enigma for flavors of orange, grape, melon, berries, and pear. Leans sweet.
    versus
    2) Toppling Goliath This Meeting Could've Been An Email (7.8% canned 9/28/23): A NEIPA from Iowa with Galaxy, Riwaka, and Citra for flavors of orange citrus zest, grapefruit, orange flower with a yeasty floral and pine dryness to finish clean. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Toppling Goliath This Meeting Could Have Been An Email:
NEIPA battle and these beer names are starting to get long-winded and laborious. Have had this one from The Veil before and impressive combo of Nelson and Mosaic to give it that tropical blueberry flavor with a nice balance of grape from the Nelson. I think that's the reason this combo works so well.
Next is some fresh Toppling Goliath, not going to argue with that. No trouble with the blind test as the aroma screams Toppling Goliath here with the classic citrus flower they often have. A bit of grapefruit from the Galaxy and Riwaka. Dry, yeasty, and almost some bitterness makes it very clean. Nice hop combination and pretty standard from Toppling Goliath. We'll see how the flavors evolve at bit as this ages a few weeks.
