Hello from Amsterdam!

Arrived this morning after a long travel day from Texas and my hotel room isn’t ready. To get the blood flowing I tried to walk around the city, but it’s raining and there’s also a marathon, which makes getting around hard with streets blocked off. So, enjoying a Heineken!

Not a fan of Brewdog bit the Mrs likes their bars, so we're starting today off in the Doghouse. A beautiful NEIPA from Otherworld Brewing.

Did a 3h bike ride this early morning. And it was cold (41F). Starting this lazy Sunday afternoon with a BA porter. Cheers!

Where this is brewed brings up a memory of when my nephew was a little kid. He just loved trying to say that city's name as a kid, and just laughed like crazy. Now he's 24, (his birthday was yesterday) and stopped to visit his old uncle at work to buy a 4 pack of mixed drinks. It was good seeing him on his visit here for a comic/toy convention.

Damn I've been virtual cellar dweller all summer mainly due to work. It's an honor playing with you sir.

That's a great question, the problem is getting Kevin in to play bass. I used to have three good bassists available but one of them passed away (Woody), another one decided he was quitting playing - which I never understood, and then Kevin. For some reason, I can't get Kevin to commit to a date so I've kind of given up asking and am waiting until he expresses some interest in jamming on his own volition.

Kevin can't do anything without the express permission of his wife.

I found a can of Cinco De Mindblock Mai Bock in the back of a beer fridge and I'm a drinking it now. From Petskull Brewing in Manitowoc , WI. 7.7% ABV

This can has held up well. I will give it a 3.78/5 as it is today. I'm sure it would have scored higher if fresh.

 

Time to celebrate New Zealand this weekend with this Dry-hopped New Zealand Pils by a brewery featured here often.

Full take in the New Beer Sunday #973 thread. I enjoyed this beer, but believe this is more of a modern pale ale than pilsner, though there is light consistencies found pilsner wise with the malt. Overall I am enjoying this well, having to slow down from finishing quickly to capture my review and this post.



I've played most sports, football the longest into my early 40s, but can attest the two most fierce are Water Polo off land and Rugby on it. Perhaps I'll resume planning my NZ / Australia trip after placing a three year hiatus from my planned 2020 adventure.

I had to pick up my car from having work on it. Easily $300 more than I expected. Not going to be a good Sunday!
