    Been a while since I had a sour, so grabbed a single of this based on its very high rating.

    Pretty darn boring in today's world of incredible smoothie-like sours.

    1) Hop Butcher Orange Fly (7.5% canned 8/8/23): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra & Waimea for flavors of orange flower, grapefruit zest, tropical pineapple, mangos and papaya.
    versus
    2) Toppling Goliath Cage’s Castles (7.8% canned 10/16/23): A NEIPA from Iowa with Strata, Nelson, Citra and Mosaic for flavors of orange flower, grapefruit, pineapple, some hints of grape and melon. Smooth. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    Hop Butcher Orange Fly:     NEIPA Battle. Bot hare top shelf for their own reasons. First up is Hop Butcher Orange Fly. A bit older and has tamed. Lots of orange and nectarine creamsicle, smooth pineapple and green melon.
    Up against a new release from Toppling Goliath. Toppling Goliath is far more juicy and fresh as I expected. This is a fantastic NEIPA on par for Toppling Goliath.
    Something about the balance of flavors and smoothness in these Hop Butcher beers as they somehow don't age is incredible. I wish they had better distribution, because I would pick these up regularly.

    Brasserie de Saint-Omer ‘Karlsquell’ Biere Blonde… cheers.

    Bought this at an Aldi in Toulouse, France, game to try anything.,.

    So.,. There’s no discernable reason for this malt licker other than as a delivery vehicle for 7.8% alcohol.
    Contains sulfites, hop extract, glucose syrup, cheap malt.
    Piss.
    Yuck.

    ...a productive day prior to this: some load testing at 100 yards (windy and cold), got two boxes of beer out to fellow BAs, bought some bird seed for my ground feeders as cold, wet weather has now moved into the area (wood fire in the house in a bit)...so, a good day to listen to new John Zorn and now Black Magick SS on cassette...but also love the below Lou Reed tune...

    Total move. We (lovely wife & I) got long stay visas. Been talking about doing this for 5 years, closed our company in 2021, retired .,. ready for a whole new set of experiences.
