    Howdy BAs!

Another full beautiful day outside working on my property.

Such perfect weather in the upper 30s... I can't get enough outdoor time.

    Definitely time to Celebrate!

Finally time to sit down and enjoy this very interesting beer sent to me by the stellar BA and beer reviewer. This beer is brewed with ancient grains. Hanabi Lager Co. @beergoot
Beautiful beer to start. Wonderful fruity aroma with floral and bread.
Full of flavor with a drying and pleasantly bitter finish. Excellent beer.
Thanks Dave and hope you had a fantastic Vets day. [IMG]

Good Sunday afternoon, everyone. Lots of Stouts are being reviewed on the NBW thread this weekend so I joined in the fun with Alesmith's Barrel-Aged Speedway Stout - Coconut Vanilla Edition (2023). I wish the barrel influence were a more delicate; the bourbon dominates the other flavors. But I'm happy to see cans here in New Jersey. Cheers!

Nice, must be relatively new. Are you getting a chance to visit Cumbre or Bow & Arrow?
    Cheers!

Celebration. Ribs in the slow cooker. Some other stuff to throw on the grill in a bit. Cheers!

Part of the BIF - barleywine and stout edition, a Mystery beer from @2beerdogs.

A soap bubble-looking initial head that quickly retreated to edges. Dark brown body that is opaque.

Vinous nose and flavor. Not a stout or barleywine. Solidly sour and vinegar flavor. Something sweet way in the background. Neither malt nor hop character present.

Medium to thin body with light mouth covering, a light tingly mouthfeel.

    Wild ale?

The Mystery beer is indeed a wild ale: Bruery Terreux Hoarders Cuvee (2018). Perhaps the time has faded the blended stout elements and flavors unless they were super subtle even when new. Or perhaps my palate simply isn’t sophisticated enough to find them. Not my favorite style, but a fun mystery beer that was a poser.

I have no previous experience with butterfly pea flowers, but I think this their use is what gives this beer its distinctive grassy and vegetal flavor as well as it's unique color.

I visited La Cumbre on Friday. Skipped Bow & Arrow this visit, but it was one of my favorites last time. I think I'll see them again in February.
