    1) Portage Hills and Horizons (6.0% no canning date): A WCIPA from Minnesota with Strata, Citra, and Mosaic for flavors of dank lemon citrus, flower, resinous pine. Moderately bitter.
    versus
    2) BlackStack That Remains Unclear (7.1% no canning date): A WCIPA from Minnesota with Nugget & Amarillo & Mosaic Cryo for flavors of lemon citrus, OJ resinous orange and pine. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Portage Hills and Horizons:
WCIPA Battle out of The Cities. First is Portage Hills and Horizons. Nice hop combo with the addition of Strata. It does have a bit of grapefruit and citrus flavor. Pretty decent all around.
Next is BlackStack. Pours brighter. A little soapy as well. Nice resinous flavors. Not as bitter as I'd expect. I was going to give this one the win, but the Portage one improved as it warmed.
Both are at least okay, but it's rare to nail the appropriate of bitterness for a WCIPA.

Perhaps my favorite holiday beer. Did you by chance try to find differences between the two drawings on the label? I do this with my youngest daughter every year - she loves it. We could only find 12 of the 13 differences this year and it's driving her nuts.

A 2023 BDCS. My youngest Son gave me a 4-pack for Christmas. We got a rare snow here today and this beer just seemed "right"! Sorry, no pics.

6th Lord. An IPA brewed by Basic City.

I am hoping that Richmond avoids most of the nasty weather tomorrow. I am too old to shovel snow. Wife says I am not too old to shovel snow but too damn lazy!

I started out with a Corsendonk Christmas Ale and I just popped open a 2019 Lagunitas Willettized. 2 great beers for a cold New York night. Cheers Lads!

Lupulin Brewing Two Nutz (6.0%): A Nut Brown Ale from Minnesota with flavors of brown bread, nuts, chocolate with a mild coffe and roastedness.

Not a big brown ale fan, but gave this a go. Great flavors, but almost leans more toward a porter. Rich chocolate with some coffee and roastedness. This beer was brewed in tribute to their two founders. Lupulin is a great brewery and this is a very enjoyable and well-made beer. There's no THC in this beer, but I know that guy on the can is on a different cloud number than the rest of us.

Maine Lunch in the glass. Glad I can still occasionally find this, but it is more of a very rare treat cause I never know when a new drop will come. Anyway, always love Maine.

@beergoot not sure if you are still getting Tone Poet releases, but the new Elvin Jones came out today. His 1969 album, Poly-Currents is awesome.

#2, this is an old favorite and very good, but I wish the barrel was a bit more prominent. Still really hitting the spot.

My Fighting Illini and your Boilermakers are on later tonight. That should be a great game. I don't have anything except bunny ears to get whatever I can there, so I'm going to be listening online to Brian Barnhart, long time radio voice for Illinois.

And I need to track down some Hop Bullet...

    6pk? :astonished:
Here, it went from $13.99/4pk/16oz to $17.99/4pk/16oz in one jump, early last summer [thus also lingering a lot longer] . Now it's also one of those luxury ones, that I only get once in a great while, & if I can find it not-old/oldish when the mood strikes.

Just looked at the weather. We're only supposed to be getting 5-9",over 2 days, & a friend in Orange, VA [not sure if that's close] is supposed to get 1-2". You should be OK. :sunglasses:

    Evenin' BAs :beers:

Fyi , 2 mo past BB date [Beer doesn't go bad, right? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:] , & it's still fine. Just the slightest hint of diacetyl, but still enjoyable.
I left my glasses in the car, & have never had a Resin that was bad, so didn't check. It just arrived a month ago ferchrissakes. F'n distributor has a habit of that.:unamused:
    Should have checked.
