    It’s a new day in Vegas!

    Hard at times to get fresh versions of this one in Chicago. Appreciative I can find it fresh here (i. e. under six months). Slightly over two months, this is the way it’s supposed to be.

    Good day BAs! Thanks @ChicagoJ (does this end in a capital or lower case "J", expiring minds want to know) for starting today's thread, even from Vegas. A little Boz Skaggs is a good thing!
    Probably a little warmer in Vegas than Chi-town or here (1F/-17C and sunny - more snow will sublime off today!) For me, today's New Breakfast beer is the last of the massive box sent by @muchloveforhops3 in BSBIF#1:

    Amazing how this worked out, but the last beer from @muchloveforhops3 turns out to be the worst tasting of the lot, despite the final score.

    Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) Looks like every other Impy stout, except for the fizzy head and no crown/lacing. Aroma is predominantly chocolate with some initial whiskey that disappears as it warms. The flavor is chocolate and watered-down whiskey, about the same as if you drank the water used to rinse out a tumbler. In general, an easy drinker but not one I’d seek out.

    Well made, but just not in my wheelhouse - too weak whiskey. Thanks Doug - I'm glad I got to try it. Next summer...

    Evolutionary State from Foreign Exchange, an English Barleywine with added junk, maple syrup and Madagascar vanilla. Nice aroma, sticky sweet taste gets worse as it warms.

    No, trying to finagle a ride out there, but if not will go Monday or Tuesday. Somewhat concerned with the changes at my favorite brewery (Tenaya Creek purchased by and soon dumping the branding and perhaps many most TC beers), but I’m just focusing on enjoying what I can the next week.

    I’ll post a write up of my favorites and of new places after the trip in the Visiting Las Vegas Thread for anyone interested.

    My name is Jason, but many call me Jay, which is what the J stands for. I do try to escape Chicago 1-2 weeks in Jan/Feb, and was fortunate to get out Thursday before the snow cold combo. Hope you and everyone here is safe, warm and healthy with the cold.

    I haven’t worn my jacket yet (left it at my brothers), but have been fine except for early overnight hours and just jumping on the bus for the few miles I’d typically walk to burn off the beer. I have been enjoying getting my steps in (averaging over 6 miles a day) in the mild weather. I do need to force myself to do it back home in the Winter, even if splitting up multiple shorter walks, until it warms up.

    This post is already too long, so I’ll post my beer with review in the next one (haven’t cracked it open yet).
