    1) Modist Pretty Metal (4.5%): A Euro Dark Lager from Minnesota with flavors of dark cocoa, roast, black malt and earth. Roasted.
    versus
    2) Phase Three P3 Czech Dark (5.3%): A Czech Dark Lager from Chicago with flavors of dark cocoa, coffee roast, earthy bread malts. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Modist Pretty Metal:
Pretty similar beers here. Modist is a Euro Dark that has dark cocoa and roasted notes, slightly bitter. Phase Three is similar, but slightly more bready and smooth. Both have a similar sweetness, but Modist is more roasted. Both are fairly similar and excellent dark lagers.

Yeah that's a favorite. When I was there last weekend, Todd was finishing a fresh batch. He does it the old fashioned way. Decoction mash and spunding for natural carbonation. I need to get by there and grab some before it's all gone!

The trend the last couple years of Czech/Euro dark lagers, schwarzbiers, and the like, is my favorite trend since NEIPA.

Trying to tie on a tasty buzz before the wife sticks me with having to watch the Superbowl football game tonight.
    Ugh.... BORING!
She's keeping me busy in the kitchen preparing the obligatory game snacks, which I am just fine with.
Luckily, I have some kegging to do in the brew room, as well as preparing my next brew.
Anything but sit in front of a football game and crappy half time show for hours on end for 15 minutes of actual game play!
    Cheers!

I drove a '66 Burgundy Red Mustang convertable in high school. It was not quick on the start, but top end was fast. Fun car to drive. Miss it.

An absolutely bonkers 21% impy by Breakbeat Brewing.

For the ABV it's actually very drinkable. thin / medium bodied and not overly sweet. Chocolate, caramel and booze!

Beautiful 46 degree day outside but I’m gonna spend it watching the Super Bowl. Should be a great game, but this pregame mixture of prerecorded sketches and Taylor Swift analyzation is grating on my nerves.

This Alibi Kölsch is very easy drinking. Cheers all!

Been a convertible Mustang driver since ‘09 (bought within a few weeks of joining BA, it turns out!). Listen, I don’t ask much from a car, other than that it goes vroom and has no roof.
