What beer are you drinking now? #4140

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for starting today's thread! It's another beautiful but chilly morn here on the tundra of NW PA - 27F/-3C. Yesterday I was able to drag Mrs. Lizard to the local ghost mall for a bit of a walk before her upcoming surgery - it was a beautiful day too!

Yesterday, I prepared a North Coast Old Rasputin on medium coarse ground dark Italian roast coffee and allowed it to rest overnight (per instructions from @thebeers - thanks Arthur!) in my press. Mrs. Lizard said she smelled coffee when she got up today, so it must have worked. Unfortunately, I had a sneezing fit and couldn't smell anything. So I guess I'll try it again in another day or two, same bat time, same bat channel.

 

Catching up from yesterday...

Ended up at Southern Yankee Crafthouse...again

Had their excellent pizza, and a Who's Paul Pale Ale. Out on their beautiful patio.



Came to Southern Yankee, cause it was close to a concert I went to in the Museum District. Put on by a wonderful non profit, Nameless Sound, so the show is free. They bring in avant garde and free jazz musicians, and it is always great. Last night it was the excellent drummer, Chris Corsano (if you have heard the newer Bjork albums, you have heard him). I'm more familiar with his music because I'm a big Steve Swell fan (free jazz trombone anyone ha).





Be back later this afternoon, probably out in my courtyard with a book, as it is to beautiful out for me to even concentrate on work...though I have to for at least a little bit ha.

We’re at Moby Dick Brewing in New Bedford, Ma. for lunch

Poor Lazarus Altbier dark lager characteristics, it has a crisp fruity taste
We toured the Whaling Museum earlier, very interesting place.

 

I don't know why there aren't more altbiers in the market. They are such an underrated style. If Kölsch is an easy style to find, I wonder why Alt is not.

 

I finished the driveline overhaul on the 1991, 256,000 mile Mustang, now it's clutch break-in time. I washed the pollen off too, Ocala was the only city called by name when the weather channel showed the early pollen map this morning. A nice, light Von Trapp Pilsner as the refresher....

 

Nice enough today to enjoy a little of the second half plus of this bottle outside.

Lager, 5.5%
Hershey, Pa
It tastes like Tröegenator Lite, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
It's a hefty lager, almost Bock like. Very satisfying.
This is a fantastic change of pace offering from them.

 

Double Barrel Mendhi from More Brewing. Robust!
