What beer are you drinking now? #4150

Having a fresh Union Jack while on a California trip over 20 years ago is what opened my eyes up to good craft beer.

 

Something to revive the palate, Einstok White Ale, crisp and refreshing!

Nice and light, maybe a little soft for my taste.

 

I had to try their new Grand Prize lager...which is just OK for basically a light lager. Eh, would expect a bit better from them but whatever. Trying to capture that retro lager feel I guess?



But then...oh yeah, they brought out the big guns with Elissa IPA on cask. This is an all time classic, and one of the beers that got me hooked on cask (before I lived and worked in the UK for a while). I would drink this all day at the original Ginger Man.

 

The Oracle has listened, heard you, and is delivering. This is great f****g beer.

Huge flavor despite a very small abv (3.8%). Absolutely awesome. Big thanks to @jonphisher for sharing this one too.

 

And then...what do you know, they have some old Divine Reserves on offer. I got the 16, which is their "adambier," From 2016, this is an old beer ha.

A bit oxidized, as something that is 8 years old will be. A thick full body, with chewy malts. All the malts you can handle, with chocolate covered cherries, baked brown bread. Alcohol is certainly noticeable, but a nice sipper all the same.



And, I had to have another cask Elissa with some fish & chips this time...
