Happy Tuesday ba. Out in the shit rain most of today but off tomorrow. Typical start for me here,

 

1) New Glarus Spotted Cow (4.8%): A Cream ale from Wisconsin with flavors of pale malts, yeast. Clean
versus
2) 3 Sheeps Wisconsinitis (5.0%): A Cream ale from Wisconsin with flavors of pale malts, bread, corn, and cream. Smooth. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: 3 Sheeps Wisconsinitis. Wisconsin Cream Ale Battle. First is New Glarus. Sort of a quasi cream ale. Pale malts, a bit yeasty and fruity. Fairly tame and mild. Never really been my jam.
Next is 3 Sheeps Wisconsinitis. Strong cream, corn, and bread-like flavors. Flavorful and very smooth. A good cream ale here.

Nice to see you back out on the water - makes me feel like spring is coming. Lake is looking serene and calm as well - you're a lucky man

 

1) Stone Ruination (8.2% canned 1/17/24): An Imperial WCIPA from California with flavors of bitter grapefruit and resinous pine. A sweet, but balancing bitter finish.

2) Sierra Nevada Magnut Hop Bullet (9.5% canned 12/14/23): An Imperial WCIPA from California with flavors of grapefruit, resinous tangerine, and sweet pine resin. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
1) Stone Ruination: Imperial WCIPA Battle. First is Stone Ruination. A fantatic WCIPA that is sort of like their original Stone, but amped up a bit. I think it could be nearly as good. Intense resinous and bitter notes while still being dry.
Next is Sierra Nevada Magnum Hop Bullet. I thought the original Hop Bullet was alright. This one is amped up to 9.5%. Resinous, sweet, and not really all that bitter. Hides the alcohol well, but ultimately too big, boozy, and sweet. Sort of like a sequel to a movie that didn't need to be made.

 

Enjoying a Rosemary IPA from Twin Leaf in Asheville's South Slope. Seasonal release for Thanksgiving, the bottle was a splurge but hoping i can get a growler to share, this is a really nice marriage of WCIPA and rosemary.
Listening to some Red, White, and Booze on Sirius this afternoon.

Hey, thanks Larry! Always nice to be out on the lake here - this was actually my 3rd time out this year already - went out in February on a warm day, yesterday and again this afternoon! It has been a very mild winter and the lake was only frozen for a short time! It was calm and serene also today, at least before some strong thunderstorms came roaring through a bit ago! And yes, I know I am very lucky to live here!

Man, weird weather today - sun - then storms, then sun again! More storms coming later this evening though....and a break in the record setting temps in the low 70's the past few days!
