A Guinness from the discount 8 pack I purchased at the local grocery store. I get a hankering for it this time every year kinda like girl scout cookies. Looks like a possible snow day tomorrow filled with sitting around and drinking beer between rounds of shoveling? A typical March storm that has the experts chasing their tales with predictions that change by the hour. I'll make mine when I wake up tomorrow morning. Cheers!

This is drinking well for 3 months old. That pretty head didn't last long though. For me, their regular IPA pales in comparison to this one.

10th Anniversary Ola Dubh from Harviestoun. Aged 2 years in Highland Park 12 year old single malt scotch whisky casks.

 

Lambiek Fabriek - Oude Kriek Jart-Elle

 

Bauhaus Wonderstuff (5.4%): A Czech Pils from Minnesota that bready and salty flavors. A little lemon citrus sweetness and smooth.

Sometimes you have to go with simplicity. This is one of those beers you could pound, yet with a complex Czech Pils flavor profile. Classic, clean, and they've been making it for years. An under the radar brewery in The Cities so definitely worth a visit if you're there as they make some killer beers.

 

Saint Arnold Double Down, always love this one.

Moving on to Fiona Apple after some PJ Harvey. Extraordinary Machine is great.



Also, I'm usually not one to really care about music videos, but this one with Zach Galifianakis is one of my favorites

Semi sweet, tropical fruit juice. Alcohol well hidden. A very tasty hazy!

 

Oh, I haven't had an Ola Dubh in a long time, those use to be one of my favorites, haven't seen them around at all lately...

 

I've had one too many to chime in on what I think of this.

 

Hoppin' Frog Pentuple Belgian Pale Strong Ale, 15.1% ABV. Some confusion over the style, listed on BA as a Tripel, may need changing. Pours clearish golden with a half-finger off-white head that left some lacing. Aroma is slight butterscotch and banana. Taste is butterscotch/toffee, and alcohol, moderately sweet, slightly bitter, some alcohol burn. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding, as it should be since it earned them an ABF Gold in 2021. Really appreciate the 8.45oz can format. Should have bought more.

This is real nice, and I sure wish I had this weenie can format as an option for other big beers I favor. Some 16oz beers I have are equivalent to four Buds (the bud-factor equals 12oz x 5% ABV = 60). I'm putting one of my Utopias glasses to good use, though I may have to find something slightly larger since it didn't quite fit. I hate it when it doesn't quite fit.
