Have a good Friday. Been a while since I've been around. Bit of bad news but I'm optimistic. Steg our favorite black cat was put down after kidney/liver failure 2 weeks ago. He was already dying when we found him laying on our bed . So a bit expensive there for emergency vet. They put him on life support but could do nothing to save. Thursday the same week I got laid off by my very unpleasant boss that never liked me much. Today is my last day. Good news is I taught myself machine learning and python in 6 months and I'm ready to be a Data scientist/developer. Just need to get my Microsoft fabric courses done and I'm ready to kick ass and make more money with management that sees my potential. I'll miss my awesome colleagues though. I'm sure I'll be back in a few years . Either way I'm ready. Me and Julia are getting married at McKinley monument April 6th before the eclipse.

Not sure if I'm going to be able to come to metalfest @GreenBayBA but will see how fast my job turnaround will be.

At la Fiesta Mexican for my last colleague lunch here. 32 ounce foothills hoppyum. Texanas fajitas was kick ass. I'm coming back.

First time trying a Parish beer. Just under 2 months old so maybe past its best by some peoples rules but this is still a crazy good beer.

 

With this one now. Most of my chores are completed. Basketball the rest of the day I think.

 

Brouwerij Huyghe Delirium Nocturnum Belgian Dark Strong Ale, 8.5% ABV. Gushered upon opening, all over the damn counter. Pours dark brown and had a 1.5 finger head which left nice lacing. Aroma is dark fruit, spice, and malt. Taste follows, faintly sweet, slightly bitter. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent.

Drekker Cherry Bomb BRAAAAAAAAins Double Fruit Smoothie Sour, 6.4% ABV. Pours opaque dark red with a ring of pink bubbles. Aroma is cherry, vanilla, and lemon. Taste is lemon up front, then cherry, and vanilla hiding in the bushes, slightly sweet, quite tart. Excellent mouthfeel, overall excellent to outstanding-adjacent. Most Drekker sours are sweeter than they are sour, so sour purists should like this.
