Another fine local brew: Camper Van, a WCIPA from Double Tap Brewing in Whippany, NJ. It’s solid and I’ll keep buying cans. Cheers!

Golden color with good white cap and lacing.

Aroma of sweet malt and noticably green, pleasantly citrus hops.

Taste is clean, refreshing and hop forward in a tasty way. Their is a solid malt base but hops are the primary flavoring agent here. The hop blend is skillful enough I don't get high points like lemon or grapefruit, rather a tasty mix of citrus elements that even out in a rounded whole.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

Overall this one doesn't really stand out as more than a competent NEIPA but it certainly runs with the pack.

    Cheers Lads!

A few bands of snow flurries mixed in with mist like rain with more to come. Good excuse to rest the knees, haha.

Enjoying a Tank 7 by Boulevard. Spent a bit of time trying to find something better for the $ at the emporium today and no dice. Even the Orabelle which is cheaper and close is done for the season.

While my buddy chefs it up, I got a couple Modestman lined up for us to start.

Pot stickers and Chinese pork appetizers sizzling away across this massive 9x11' solid piece of granite with built-in stove across the way.

He's been slowly building his parents a crazy palace of a 2nd home on a lake here in NH. Good son!

Gonna be a dynamite meal coming up!

    Cheers!

It's a great, solid, house IPA for them. Enjoy exploring their options; I love Scorn pale ale and if you ever see Black Cascade (and you happen to enjoy black IPA), that's... excellent too. Cheers!

[IMG] Another local offering Yards “Washington’s “ Porter. Very different from the Dock Street “Man Full of Trouble “ Porter. This is sweeter with more caramel notes. The Dock Street was more robust with smoky coffee notes!

Howdy, cheers. Finally trying this. No date on box, but the cans inside are dated Oct 2 2023...bummer. smell: bummer. Decent enough malty flavor and smoothness are there. At only 65 Ibu this tastes much more bitter than an 85 from a few days ago.

#2, nothing to see here, just a 13.5% ABV BA imperial milk stout with cocoa nibs, cherries, and dried bananas. It’s mundane.

Or maybe not. Big flavors, and on the sweeter side, as expected with an imperial milk stout, but the subtle tartness from the cherries and the booze from the barrel keeps this excellent beer from venturing into Cloyingville. Absolutely love it.

Dogfish Head Utopias Barrel-aged World Wide Stout Imperial Stout, 17.3% ABV. I rated this 4.6 back in 2021, higher than I rated Utopias (4.57).

I started my day with a barleywine, I might as well end it the same way.

Bourbon Barrel Aged Third Coast Old Ale - Bell's Brewing - 2018 - 12.6% ABV

I have no clue who gave this to me. It is good, but is it an upgrade from the OG? Not sure.

    From a 750ml bottle. Packaged on 10-23-18

Very good hiss and smoke upon opening the bottle. Very dark amber colored beer. Just hints of it shine through when I hold it to the light. The head is a 2 finger tan head. For the ABV, it has good retention. There is no lacing on the glass.
The nose hits right away while pouring. Tons of caramel and toffee along with dark fruit. Up close it is so full of plum and raisin. There's notes of the caramel and toffee as well as vanilla. There's also notes of bourbon in the mix.
The flavor starts off way mellow, to be honest, and not much there. The flavor starts to take off with dark fruit - plum, raisin - as it goes on. There's some caramel that comes into play as well as toffee. The finish is more vanilla and barrel notes. There's really no hops coming through, but, at almost 6 years, not too surprising.
The body is quite full feeling overall. It is somewhat bubbly feeling. There's a good burn on the back to tell you to take it slow.
Is it good? Yes, very. Is it an upgrade from the OG? Not sure. Both are good in their own right.
