On to West Coast Gold. Brix City isn’t known for its WCIPAs but this is solid- piny, bitter goodness. I think I was the only one in the taproom who wasn’t drinking Silk City Stout but I have lots to do today and 8 bottles to look forward to. Cheers!

Mildly bummed that I'm not heading to GABP for the Reds v. Angels game this evening, but alas, mrs. meanmutt has been a bit under the weather all week, so we exchanged our tickets. Will have to catch the game on TV.

Absolutely beautiful day. Clear blue sunny skies, 63° and a steady gentle breeze. Spring at it’s finest. I could sit here all day; alas, I have laundry in the machine, and a camper to pack up for my return home to Florida.

I’ll add to NBW but the skinny is an easy drinking IPA that has great mouthfeel but could use more hop bite. I know a couple of friends who avoid Head Hunter because it is (gloriously) bitter and have adopted this one as their go-to Fat Head’s beer. Cheers.

 

Gnarly Barley Hifi Hefe



Light golden color with good white cap.

Aroma of mild grain and something slightly tartly sweet like ripe peach.

Taste is simple and clear. A little less than medium strength with sweet grain and those ripe citrus notes. Little hop presence that I could detect.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Good tasting brew that's not remarkable but is suitable.
