2022 AleSmith Brewing (USA) Barrel - Aged Speedway Stout.,. Cheeeers!

Started this one at 2:00 AM, corked it back up, and am sipping it right now with morning coffee and croissant. I’ll post my thoughts at ISIL in a bit.,.

This is a Kettlehead and Definitive Brewing Collaboration. 8.5% canned 5/28/24 is a rather enjoyable start to a Sunday. Cheers all.

 

DDH with Citra and Galaxy 8.5% canned on 5/08/24. Rather impressive stuff.

Today's New Breakfast Beer comes from Japan, thanks to that generous BA @snaotheus, who took requests for happoshu during BIF 18, before his departure. Thanks Ryan - that was extremely generous of you, particularly since I sat BIF 18 out! You are a gentleman and a scholar.



Really pleasing - reminds me of the ton of Straub greenies I used to put down, but a bit lighter on the tongue.

Some mellow music for a Sunday morning I"ll be back with a beer later on, this is still coffee time for me.

 

Good People Brewing Co. IPA



Deep gold color with lasting off white cap.

Aroma of earthy pine and pithy grapefruit. Certainly hop forward.

Taste of piney hops first quickly joined by caramely malt. The two are well balanced and each neatly offsets the other.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

Overall it's a well crafted IPA that leans toward the malt rich piney side of things.

 

Late night Saturday:

• Loved seeing Spiteful Brewing's Belligerent Bob in LNBA last night @Qbert !
• The East Oakland Hoagie Spot, Oooh Lordy Indeed. Chicago in the House at the 2:00 mark, wish I got his take as well. On point as usual @TheIPAHunter !

Full review linked above, New Beer Sunday #1006 take linked here. WBAYDN treatment, this beer had very high expectations on my end and were exceeded. Full flavor, easy drinking. Just sublime.

Jayhawks Weekend continues with the only Jayhawks I listen to with Mark Olsen.

 

This brewery impressed me at first, not being impressed often.
