Right. A good night's rest. Solid. Drums again tomorrow night. <> It's so nice to think about the future and re-start of Anchor Brewing. Esp in these times. I really hope it goes well and they bring back (my faves) Liberty Ale and Anchor Small Beer. I'd give Old Foghorn another shot as well. A guy can dream, right? :beers: Anyways, no more AALs left here at home and finally getting to my last new-to-me fridge pull: Weihenstephaner//St. Bernardus Braupakt Blonde Ale. Absolutely emblematic in the style. Soul & harmony. Feeling lucky to have this beer. Sorry for the so so pic. Cheers!

    1) Hop Butcher Lord Octopus (7.5% canned 1/30/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic for flavors of tropical berries, blueberries, cotton candy, light grassy, citrusy, and floral tones.
    versus
    2) Hop Butcher Cosmic Fountain (7.5% canned 3/18/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Waimea & Mosaic for flavors of tropical orange, grape, resinous stonefruit and berries. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Hop Butcher Lord Octopus:
Another Wednesday, so why not another Hop Butcher IPA Battle. First is Lord Octopus. Getting some age here at 4 months. All Mosaic here and they do it so well. Tropical berries, cotton candy with some citrus notes to brighten it up. Probably the best solely Mosaic IPA I've had.
Next is Cosmic Fountain, Listed as World-Class. My first try at this one. Mosaic and Citra, but also some Waimea, which Hop Butcher likes to use. Gives it a dank and resinous stonefruit and slight piney note here, even some vanilla. This is more resinous and tropical. It actually tastes like a lot like Mosaic that I'm used to. I don't know that I'd give it World-Class. It's not my favorite from them, but still pretty good. I mismatched these two blind, but definitely think Lord Octopus gets the win here.

Happy Wednesday! Kind of a cloudy, drizzly day today but the sun pokes its head out every now and then. Drinking a easy Branch & Bone English Style Mild 3.8% ABV. Enjoying it too! Cheers!

...I worked up a hell of a thirst watching the firewood delivery guy move and stack 1 1/2 cords of hardwood firewood in the 90 °F temperature outside...

Pikes Peak Brewing Co. -- Miniera di Luppolo Italian Pilsner

Very nice looking beer; clear, light gold body; dense and slow-rising carbonation; thick, white head, long-lasting with a partial sculpted appearance. Initial waft of fruity esters and mild floral hop notes; nice toasted grain scent follows. Very pleasant taste; light grain base with a slight mineral bite; delicately sweet; nice hop bitterness adds balance; clean. Medium body; crisp; finishes with a light dryness.

Few things beat a good pilsner, especially one made locally. This Italian-style pilsner delivers some tasty pleasures to the discriminating palate.

...yep, I'm feeling much refreshed now...
