    Cracked open a Scrimshaw tonight and thought of @unlikelyspiderperson, for his glowing praise for this humble pilsner. Too, something about drinking from a bottle felt so satisfying. (I’ve either poured into a glass or drunk from a can nearly exclusively for as long as I can remember at this point—probably since the last time I was in Texas, and that’s been a minute.)

    'Evening, @Shanex, I hope France is treating you well today!

    This is The Raconteur IPA by Prickly Moses, a big, chewy American IPA that throws 2000s vibes down my throat and into my hop locker; a bloody nice way to end a chilly winter's Saturday here in Oz.

    My Saturdays in winter are generally spent following my local club, the South Barwon Football and Netball Club, in the Geelong Football League. I look after match-day operations for the netball side of the club, which is where my daughter plays, and it means I'm there from about 720a.m. through to about 330p.m, making sure things run efficiently and that no-one loses an eye. Once the netball is finished, packed up, and administration completed, the first thing I do is grab a beer, sit back, and watch the footy.

    Mount Pleasant Road Brewers, a local brewery, sponsors the club, and so here's a shout-out to them and their excellent Pilsner, with a rainbow added in for extra technicolour splendour!

    Kavala is a lot of fun. Make sure you try the local beer brand, Marmita. They make a fairly good American Pale Ale.

    By the way, Mpura (or more accurately Mpyra) is actually the Greek word for beer, pronounced BEER-ah). Enjoy.
