This is an interesting one. For the BA's who like Belgian Style White Weat-containing beers anyway.
The independent, small Brewery, Gulpener from Limburg Holland, managed to succesfully produce with a Belgian Style White, called Gulpener Korenwolf for the past 2 decaded. It was not very special, but it could compete with Hoegaarden, Blanche de Namur, or La Blanche of Brasserie Mont Blanc and alikes. They got some popularity.

This year the guys from Gulpener took it a step further now and split off a seperate brand with a little different styled Belgian white, Different label, trying to be cool and trendy, and refubished their beer to a stronger, more complex version, including elderflower and now boasting an untypical 6% abv.



Interesting beer, certainly nothing bad there and probably well branded with the cool hamster, if you like those things, but a Belgian white with 6% abv, does not work quite well for me yet.

Somthing strange happening there. But nice:

I bought a 12pack of mixed IPAs from Deschutes. They were all packaged late April and tasting fine. I dig the citrus/grapefruit in this one.

BFM La Salamndre and Riot Act Lager (both Swiss beers) with Italian meat board and fresh baked focaccia. Cheers!

Weiner Wednesday at Big Hammock Brewing. Sideward Brewing (Orlando) Moon Boots IPA with an all beef dog topped with Beer Boursin cheese sauce, pepper relish, bacon served with Swiss cheese potato bake!

Hop Butcher For The World Mega Bite

 

Maplewood The Charlatan APA - 10 Year Anniversary release (Warrior, Simcoe, Centennial, Citra). This is the old school recipe of their flagship APA made for their 10th anniversary. I remember having this back in the day, so this is an awesome blast from the past. Bready, slight biscuit, and caramel malt backbone to balance out the navel orange, grapefruit, citrus peel, floral, dank, and pine resin of the hops. Love it!

Watching Presumed Innocent with my wife. Not happy with the changes that have been made, but maybe it'll get better.

 

Hop Butcher/Perennial Thoroughly New IPA (Chinook, Citra, Mosaic, Strata). Loving the juicy, yet dry character on this one. Pineapple, ripe mango, cara cara orange, lychee, ruby red grapefruit, some lime, slight strawberry, some bubblegum, grapefruit and mango peel, pine. A solid bitterness. Thoroughly enjoy this one.
