Arvon Blue Wing WC DIPA. I’ve had this in cans before and I really enjoyed it. Draft is even better. Drier and more bitter than I remember, with the same big grapefruit, floral, and pine resin hop character. Arvon is a force to be reckoned with.

 

Shifting Dream NZ pale ale at Pizza Port Solana Beach

 

Revolution Supermassive Cafe Deth (18 months in barrels and 10 lbs of Dark Matter coffee per oak barrel). My first time with this one and it hits all the marks as expected. Regular Cafe Deth is already great, but the extra addition of coffee doesn’t hurt. The base stout is a bit sweeter, giving off caramel, toffee, and simple syrup vibes to balance the coffee, roasted malt, charred oak, and bourbon. Revolution’s barrel program is crazy good.

Windmill Rye on the Wall APA (Amarillo, Strata, Sultana). An excellent rye pale ale. These guys recently closed down, but I’ll seek out the remnants as much as I can. They definitely didn’t close due to quality.
