1) Maplewood Citra Juice Pants (7.0% canned 5/29/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra with flavors of orange, pineapple, mango, peach cream. Smooth and creamy.
versus
2) Toppling Goliath King Sue (7.8% canned 4/19/24): A NEIPA from Iowa since 2014 that is brewed with Citra hops and has flavors of orange citrus, pineapple, and tropical mango. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: Maplewood Citra Juice Pants
Citra NEIPA Battle. First is Maplewood Citra Juice Pants. Took their original Juice Pants but with only Citra hops.
Next is Toppling Goliath King Sue. A classic from a decade ago with only Citra hops. Smooth and extremely drinkable. One of the best
Very impressed on my second try of this Maplewood IPA. Incredible juice and flavor from the Citra hop. It has more robust and complex flavors all around.
King Sue is World-Class for sure, but I think the difference here shows how far we've come in extracting hop flavors and progressing NEIPAs over the past ten years.

Forest and Main - Emperor Dumpling (West Coast IPA)

 

Hop Butcher Unwind Your Mind (7.5% canned 4/8/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic, El Dorado, & Moteuka for flavors of tropical orange, berries, some grape and lychee. Tropical.

Working through the stash on these. Great stuff and a bit older, but holding up well as usual. Excellent Hop Butcher as usual. Carry on.

 

This batch of Bitburger has been exquisite. Grabbed my 4th 4pk today.

T-storm booming with another round inbound.
