Time for some corn and camp (musically speaking) This version of 12th St Rag is much better than the one made famous by Pee Wee Hunt. This is Santo on the slip horn. Much more pep! and back beat.

 

Happy Sunday BAs! Spent Saturday at my cousin's wedding, where I had the opportunity to enjoy Bud Light for the first time in a few years. Slept there overnight and just finished the drive back home. I'm tired and I need a real beer. Cheers!

Not that I care for any happy birthdays, I try to keep it as low key as possible...though it is my birthday. Which, I do two things:

1: See a jazz show, usually avant garde/free jazz variety...Check.
2: Watch John Wayne movies...Double Check.

Definitely going to watch Hellfighters. Of course based on Red Adair and in Houston (I have also worked on oil rigs, and this is a fun movie for that). This was also the movie I got a crush on Katherine Ross with, before I saw her in The Graduate for the first time, and then I was like oh yeah But also, Wayne looks so much like my Grandfather in this movie, it is uncanny. The scene were he is in the hospital, looks exactly like when my Grandfather had a stroke. My entire family always watches this and just cries every time, and I have it memorized. I know, its not really a "great" movie, but I love it ha. Then of course The Searchers is an all time great.

Anyway, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in the glass...and got to have some Bourbon with John Wayne...Henry McKenna 10 Year Old, Single Barrel, Bottled in Bond
