Canned 7/9/24. Purchased at the brewery 7/21/24. Poured at 54°. Cherries, cherries, cherries! If given this beer blind I’d would not guess that this beer is a BBA Barleywine. Working on notes for NBW…

Greetings BAs. It’s a murky day along the South Jersey Shore. While not exactly Oktofest weather, I’m at Ludlam Island Brewery drinking its Marzen - just tapped today. They’ve really improved it since the last time I had it several years ago. Much sharper hop presence. Hitting the mark. Cheers!

As Gen Z might say, I "don't love" this beer. Too bitter for the style, IMO.

Perfect beer for a cool, rainy Fall morning

 

Drinking Paulaner Oktoberfest at Wolf’s Biergarten, Albany, NY

 

Cask pour of 547 Stout at Ludlam Island. I’ve had variants but never the O.G. It’s a fine, no thrills, old school, American Stout featuring bakers chocolate, acidic coffee, burnt nuts, and earthy char. Only 5.6% and served at the right temperature. I’d drink it any time! We’ll buy some cans and head over to Meyers Lighthouse. Cheers!
