Definitely the closer over here. Not distributed in St. Louis. My last Sierra Nevada Atomic Torpedo. Cheers. Tomorrow is “beer fishing” at a friends house for the first time since Covid-19. Everyone brings beers and puts them in a giant cooler full of ice. Whatever beer you grab you drink. No seltzers or ciders. Should be fun.

I expected to like this Sam Smith’s Yorkshire Stingo, but it’s really blah. The cask effect is drying, but offers no discernible exciting twang. The base ale is colorful, mostly still-looking, and tastes like a musty closet. I bought two, which will be more than plenty. I will not age the other, as no good can come from it.

From now henceforth, I shall call this Yorkshire Stinko.

Barrel aged Barleywine whose name I can’t remember, but it’s got an otter on the label, and that’s all that matters. Time for a cigar.

Came across this beer today at the store but passed on it. Thanks for the forewarning.

In fairness, now having the second half of the bottle about 30 minutes later, the flavor was less musty tasting. That’s still not a great selling point, but wanted to point out that with some air, it was less Stinko. It’s almost a Belgian yeast type flavor, with a hint of toffee on the finish. YMMV

Moved on to a Froth Brewing Twisted Series BA stout aged in Whistle Pig barrels with raw and toasted coconut. I’m not always a fan of their stouts, but this one is a winner. Lots of coconut aroma, taste, floaties with a big hit of Whistle Pig prefacing a thiiiiiick stout base. A little expensive at $15/12 oz mini-crowler, but it’s excellent. I haven’t tried the series #3 adjuncted with chocolate chip cookies, but maybe it’s worth a try.

    Thanks , brother

not that anyone gives fuck, but i figured this would help to type out :

My cat , whom i love more than anything, happens to have severe breast cancer and I'm taking her in to the vet tomorrow.
On top of losing a friend less than a week ago my world seems to be spinning out of control and I'm being tested .

    Life is short.
