All the little trees are bending over from the heavy wet snow. Yuk!

 

1) Veltins Grevensteiner (5.2%): A German Kellerbier with flavors of grains, bread, yeast, and light honey and caramel notes. Smooth and lightly sweet.
versus
2) Benediktiner Oktoberfest (5.8%): A German Festbier with flavors of earth and pale Munich malts. Floral and bready notes.

Winner: Veltins Grevensteiner
Kellerbier vs Festbier Battle. First is Veltins Kellerbier. Dark, sweet honey and orange notes. Smooth and leans sweet.
Next is Benediktiner Festbier. Bready and lightly toasted. The Festbier is nice, toasted and dry, but the Kellerbier has some amazing and smooth flavors. Slight nod to the kellerbier.

 

Lunch beer to go with my homemade burrito bowl. Great combo! Cheers everyone!

This one is total hop soup.

 

1) Hop Butcher Double Grid (7.5% canned 7/10/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra & Mosaic for flavors of tropical orange, tangerine, melon, and berries. Clean and Smooth.
versus
2) Hop Butcher Your Wish is Hazy (8.0% canned 8/27/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Simcoe, Nelson, & Moteuka for flavors of orange, blueberry, tropical melon, strawberry, cotton candy, lime and mango. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

Winner: Hop Butcher Double Grid
Halloween Hop Butcher Beer Battle. First is Double Grid. Simple Citra and Mosaic, but a World-Class beer. The flavors are complex. Bursting with juicy citrus but also tropical Mosaic berries. Outstanding complexity from such a simple hop combination.
Next is Your Wish Is Hazy. A bit more hops here with the Simcoe, Nelson and Moteuka. Some more peach, cotton candy, and melon but not quite as robust flavors.
Double Grid is a Hop Butcher Masterpiece.
