It's chilly. Not New England chilly, mind you, but still rates a "brrrrr". I think a nice stout or porter is in order. My kinda beer when the temps outside warrant it. Yep, a nice roasty, dark ale that warms the soul. In the proper mug/glass of course. Cheers my friends.

Saw the date on it and thought, hmmmm....maybe I better have this soon as it says "Spring 2012."

But then at first smell and sip, I thought "holy balls." Nope, still fantastic!

Just finished digging all the cars out so a nice Belgian stout reward was needed in my opinion :stuck_out_tongue: Off to visit a friend in the city once this is done!

I am a man of my word. I cracked it open and it tastes like BCBS. Shit I can't lie. I like this better than BCBS! It had to be said. There is a tart fruitiness to it that adds depth. I now wish I had found a four pack of this!

    Better luck next year.

Ugh, this is what I had to look forward to this morning; more of this:

Fortunately, I had this special little something chilling in the 10F weather getting ready to go:

Finished the bulk of the driveway; we can definitely get in and out now. Tons of other housework to get done, too (dishes, laundry, cats, dogs, fish...it never stops). It's time for a reward. The unveiling:

    The pour:

    And of course, the review:

I like it a lot. It reminds me of FBS, honestly, but with less of that burnt coffee bite. Really, really tasty.

    Prost, Freunde!

We have a snowday here in CT and it's my day off. After getting in from shoveling and clearing the cars off, I started the morning off with this:

While enjoying that, I decided to plan out what I want to brew for this upcoming spring time and summer. I want to brew at least 6-8 times this year.

Next I figured this would be good since I'm not feeling a stout yet - totally hitting the spot:

and next...I think I'm feeling some

This Expedition Stout should help cancel out some of those calories I burned shoveling snow…
